Israel’s Kingdom Blessing
(Psalm 57:1–11; Psalm 60:1–12)

שִׁ֖יר (A Song). מִזְמ֣וֹר (A Psalm) לְדָוִֽד׃ (of David).

נָכ֣וֹן (Being firm) 1לִבִּ֣י (my heart), אֱלֹהִ֑ים (O God);

אָשִׁ֥ירָה (I will sing) וַ֝אֲזַמְּרָ֗ה (and make music), אַף־ (even) כְּבוֹדִֽי׃ (with my glory).

2  ע֭וּרָֽה (Awake), הַנֵּ֥בֶל (O harp) וְכִנּ֗וֹר (and lyre)!

אָעִ֥ירָה (I will awaken) שָּֽׁחַר׃ (the dawn).

3  אוֹדְךָ֖ (I will praise You) בָעַמִּ֥ים׀ (among the peoples), יְהוָ֑ה (O YHWH),

וַ֝אֲזַמֶּרְךָ֗ (and I will sing praises to You) בַּל־ (among) אֻמִּֽים׃ (the nations).

4  כִּֽי־ (For) גָד֣וֹל (great) מֵֽעַל־ (over) שָׁמַ֣יִם (the heavens) חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ (is Your loving devotion),

וְֽעַד־ (and up to) שְׁחָקִ֥ים (the clouds) אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ (is Your faithfulness).

5  ר֣וּמָה (Be exalted) עַל־ (above) שָׁמַ֣יִם (the heavens), אֱלֹהִ֑ים (O God),

וְעַ֖ל (and over) כָּל־ (all) הָאָ֣רֶץ (the earth) כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ (Your glory),

6  לְ֭מַעַן (that) יֵחָלְצ֣וּן (may be delivered) יְדִידֶ֑יךָ (Your beloved).

הוֹשִׁ֖יעָה (Save) יְמִֽינְךָ֣ (with Your right hand), וַעֲנֵֽנִי׃ (and answer me).

7  אֱלֹהִ֤ים׀ (God) דִּבֶּ֥ר (spoke from) בְּקָדְשׁ֗וֹ (from His holy place):

אֶעְלֹ֥זָה (I will exult)

אֲחַלְּקָ֥ה (I will divide) שְׁכֶ֑ם (Shechem),

וְעֵ֖מֶק (and the Valley) סֻכּ֣וֹת (of Succoth) אֲמַדֵּֽד׃ (measure out).

8  לִ֤י (Unto Me) גִלְעָ֨ד׀ (is Gilead), לִ֤י (unto Me) מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה (is Manasseh),

וְ֭אֶפְרַיִם (and Ephraim) מָע֣וֹז (is the strength) רֹאשִׁ֑י (of My head); יְ֝הוּדָ֗ה (Judah) מְחֹקְקִֽי׃ (is My scepter);

9  מוֹאָ֤ב׀ (Moab) סִ֬יר (is the basin) רַחְצִ֗י (of My washing);

עַל־ (upon) אֱ֭דוֹם (Edom) אַשְׁלִ֣יךְ (I will cast) נַעֲלִ֑י (My sandal);

עֲלֵֽי־ (over) פְ֝לֶ֗שֶׁת (Philistia) אֶתְרוֹעָֽע׃ (I will shout in triumph).

10  מִ֣י (Who) יֹ֭בִלֵנִי (will bring me) עִ֣יר (to the city) מִבְצָ֑ר (fortified)?

מִ֖י (Who) נָחַ֣נִי (will lead me) עַד־ (as far as) אֱדֽוֹם׃ (Edom)?

11  הֲלֹֽא־ (Not), אֱלֹהִ֥ים (O God), זְנַחְתָּ֑נוּ (have You cast us off)?

וְֽלֹא־ (And no longer) תֵצֵ֥א (will You go forth), אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים (O God), בְּצִבְאֹתֵֽינוּ׃ (with our armies)?

12  הָֽבָה־ (May You give) לָּ֣נוּ (to us) עֶזְרָ֣ת (help) מִצָּ֑ר (from adversity),

וְ֝שָׁ֗וְא (and emptiness) תְּשׁוּעַ֥ת (is the salvation) אָדָֽם׃ (of man).

13  בֵּֽאלֹהִ֥ים (With God) נַעֲשֶׂה־ (we will act) חָ֑יִל (in strength),

וְ֝ה֗וּא (and He) יָב֥וּס (will trample) צָרֵֽינוּ׃ (our adversaries).
