1  וְלִבְנֵ֣י (And the sons) יִשָׂשכָ֗ר (of Issachar):

תּוֹלָ֧ע (Tola), וּפוּאָ֛ה (and Puah), יָשִׁיב (Jashub), וְשִׁמְר֖וֹן (and Shimron)— אַרְבָּעָֽה׃ס (four).

2  וּבְנֵ֣י (And the sons) תוֹלָ֗ע (of Tola):

עֻזִּ֡י (Uzzi), וּרְפָיָ֡ה (and Rephaiah), וִֽ֠ירִיאֵל (and Jeriel), וְיַחְמַ֨י (and Jahmai), וְיִבְשָׂ֜ם (and Jibsam), וּשְׁמוּאֵ֗ל (and Shemuel), רָאשִׁ֤ים (the heads) לְבֵית־ (of house) אֲבוֹתָם֙ (of their fathers), לְתוֹלָ֔ע (of Tola) גִּבּ֥וֹרֵי (mighty men) חַ֖יִל (of valor) לְתֹלְדוֹתָ֑ם (in their generations). מִסְפָּרָם֙ (Their number was) בִּימֵ֣י (in the days) דָוִ֔יד (of David) עֶשְׂרִֽים־ (twenty) וּשְׁנַ֥יִם (and two) אֶ֖לֶף (thousand) וְשֵׁ֥שׁ (and six) מֵאֽוֹת׃ס (hundred).

3  וּבְנֵ֥י (And the sons) עֻזִּ֖י (of Uzzi);

יִֽזְרַֽחְיָ֑ה (Izrahiah).

וּבְנֵ֣י (And the sons) יִֽזְרַֽחְיָ֗ה (of Izrahiah):

מִֽיכָאֵ֡ל (Michael), וְ֠עֹבַדְיָה (and Obadiah), וְיוֹאֵ֧ל (and Joel), יִשִּׁיָּ֛ה (and Isshiah)— חֲמִשָּׁ֖ה (five) רָאשִׁ֥ים (chiefs), כֻּלָּֽם׃ (all of them). 4  וַעֲלֵיהֶ֨ם (And with them) לְתֹלְדוֹתָ֜ם (by their generations) לְבֵ֣ית (according to houses) אֲבוֹתָ֗ם (of their fathers) גְּדוּדֵי֙ (were troops) צְבָ֣א (of the host) מִלְחָמָ֔ה (of battle), שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים (thirty) וְשִׁשָּׁ֖ה (and six) אָ֑לֶף (thousand). כִּֽי־ (For) הִרְבּ֥וּ (they had many) נָשִׁ֖ים (wives) וּבָנִֽים׃ (and sons).

5  וַאֲחֵיהֶ֗ם (And their brothers) לְכֹל֙ (among all) מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת (the clans) יִשָׂשכָ֔ר (of Issachar) גִּבּוֹרֵ֖י (were men) חֲיָלִ֑ים (mighty), שְׁמוֹנִ֤ים (eighty) וְשִׁבְעָה֙ (and seven) אֶ֔לֶף (thousand) הִתְיַחְשָׂ֖ם (reckoned) לַכֹּֽל׃פ (in all).

The Descendants of Benjamin

6  בִּנְיָמִ֗ן (Of Benjamin): בֶּ֧לַע (Bela),

וָבֶ֛כֶר (and Becher), וִידִֽיעֲאֵ֖ל (and Jediael)— שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ (three).

7  וּבְנֵ֣י (And the sons) בֶ֗לַע (of Bela):

אֶצְבּ֡וֹן (Ezbon), וְעֻזִּ֡י (and Uzzi), וְ֠עֻזִּיאֵל (and Uzziel), וִירִימ֨וֹת (and Jerimoth), וְעִירִ֜י (and Iri)— חֲמִשָּׁ֗ה (five) רָאשֵׁי֙ (heads) בֵּ֣ית (of a house) אָב֔וֹת (of fathers), גִּבּוֹרֵ֖י (mighty) חֲיָלִ֑ים (of valor), וְהִתְיַחְשָׂ֗ם (and reckoned) עֶשְׂרִ֤ים (twenty) וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ (and two) אֶ֔לֶף (thousand) וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים (and thirty) וְאַרְבָּעָֽה׃ס (and four).

8  וּבְנֵ֣י (And the sons) בֶ֗כֶר (of Becher):

זְמִירָ֡ה (ZEmirah), וְיוֹעָ֡שׁ (and Joash), וֶ֠אֱלִיעֶזֶר (and Eliezer), וְאֶלְיוֹעֵינַ֤י (and Elioenai), וְעָמְרִי֙ (and Omri), וִירֵמ֣וֹת (and Jerimoth), וַאֲבִיָּ֔ה (and Abijah), וַעֲנָת֖וֹת (and Anathoth), וְעָלָ֑מֶת (and Alemeth). כָּל־ (All) אֵ֖לֶּה (these) בְּנֵי־ (were sons) בָֽכֶר׃ (of Becher). 9  וְהִתְיַחְשָׂ֣ם (And they were reckoned) לְתֹלְדוֹתָ֗ם (according to their generations) רָאשֵׁי֙ (heads) בֵּ֣ית (of a house) אֲבוֹתָ֔ם (of their fathers), גִּבּוֹרֵ֖י (mighty men) חָ֑יִל (of valor), עֶשְׂרִ֥ים (twenty) אֶ֖לֶף (thousand) וּמָאתָֽיִם׃ס (and two hundred).

10  וּבְנֵ֥י (And the sons) יְדִיעֲאֵ֖ל (of Jediael):

בִּלְהָ֑ן (Bilhan).

וּבְנֵ֣י (And the sons) בִלְהָ֗ן (of Bilhan):

יְעִישׁ (Jeush), וּ֠בִנְיָמִן (and Benjamin), וְאֵה֤וּד (and Ehud), וּֽכְנַעֲנָה֙ (and Chenaanah), וְזֵיתָ֔ן (and Zethan), וְתַרְשִׁ֖ישׁ (and Tarshish), וַאֲחִישָֽׁחַר׃ (and Ahishahar). 11  כָּל־ (All) אֵ֜לֶּה (these) בְּנֵ֤י (the sons) יְדִֽיעֲאֵל֙ (of Jediael), לְרָאשֵׁ֣י (by the heads) הָאָב֔וֹת (of the fathers), גִּבּוֹרֵ֖י (mighty men) חֲיָלִ֑ים (of valor), שִׁבְעָֽה־ (were seven) עָשָׂ֥ר (and ten) אֶ֙לֶף֙ (thousand) וּמָאתַ֔יִם (and two hundred) יֹצְאֵ֥י (going out) צָבָ֖א (to the host) לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ (for battle). 12  וְשֻׁפִּ֤ם (And Shuppim) וְחֻפִּם֙ (and Huppim) בְּנֵ֣י (were sons) עִ֔יר (of Ir), חֻשִׁ֖ם (and Hushim was) בְּנֵ֥י (son) אַחֵֽר׃ (of Aher).

The Descendants of Naphtali

13  בְּנֵ֣י (The sons) נַפְתָּלִ֗י (of Naphtali):

יַחֲצִיאֵ֧ל (Jahziel), וְגוּנִ֛י (and Guni), וְיֵ֥צֶר (and Jezer), וְשַׁלּ֖וּם (and Shallum), בְּנֵ֥י (the sons) בִלְהָֽה׃פ (of Bilhah).

The Descendants of Manasseh

14  בְּנֵ֣י (The sons) מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה (of Manasseh):

אַשְׂרִיאֵ֖ל (Asriel), אֲשֶׁ֣ר (whom) יָלָ֑דָה (bore) פִּֽילַגְשׁוֹ֙ (his concubine) הָֽאֲרַמִּיָּ֔ה (Aramean). יָלְדָ֕ה (She bore) אֶת־ (-) מָכִ֖יר (Machir) אֲבִ֥י (the father) גִלְעָֽד׃ (of Gilead).

15  וּמָכִ֞יר (And Machir) לָקַ֤ח (took) אִשָּׁה֙ (a wife) לְחֻפִּ֣ים (of Huppim) וּלְשֻׁפִּ֔ים (and of Shuppim), וְשֵׁ֤ם (and the name) אֲחֹתוֹ֙ (of his sister) מַעֲכָ֔ה (was Maacah).

וְשֵׁ֥ם (And the name) הַשֵּׁנִ֖י (of the second) צְלָפְחָ֑ד (was Zelophehad), וַתִּהְיֶ֥נָה (and begat) לִצְלָפְחָ֖ד (Zelophehad) בָּנֽוֹת׃ (only daughters).

16  וַתֵּ֨לֶד (And bore) מַעֲכָ֤ה (Maacah) אֵֽשֶׁת־ (the wife) מָכִיר֙ (of Machir) בֵּ֔ן (a son), וַתִּקְרָ֤א (and she called) שְׁמוֹ֙ (his name) פֶּ֔רֶשׁ (Peresh). וְשֵׁ֥ם (And the name) אָחִ֖יו (of his brother) שָׁ֑רֶשׁ (was Sheresh), וּבָנָ֖יו (and his sons) אוּלָ֥ם (Ulam) וָרָֽקֶם׃ (and Rekem).

17  וּבְנֵ֥י (And the sons) אוּלָ֖ם (of Ulam):

בְּדָ֑ן (Bedan).

אֵ֚לֶּה (These) בְּנֵ֣י (were the sons) גִלְעָ֔ד (of Gilead), בֶּן־ (son) מָכִ֖יר (of Machir), בֶּן־ (son) מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃ (of Manasseh). 18  וַאֲחֹת֖וֹ (And His sister) הַמֹּלֶ֑כֶת (Hammoleketh) יָלְדָה֙ (bore) אֶת־ (-) אִישְׁה֔וֹד (Ishhod), וְאֶת־ (and) אֲבִיעֶ֖זֶר (Abiezer), וְאֶת־ (and) מַחְלָֽה׃ (Mahlah).

19  וַיִּהְי֖וּ (And were) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) שְׁמִידָ֑ע (of Shemida)

אַחְיָ֣ן (Ahian), וָשֶׁ֔כֶם (and Shechem), וְלִקְחִ֖י (and Likhi), וַאֲנִיעָֽם׃פ (and Aniam).

The Descendants of Ephraim

20  וּבְנֵ֥י (And the sons) אֶפְרַ֖יִם (of Ephraim):

שׁוּתָ֑לַח (Shuthelah), וּבֶ֤רֶד (and Bered) בְּנוֹ֙ (his son), וְתַ֣חַת (and Tahath) בְּנ֔וֹ (his son), וְאֶלְעָדָ֥ה (and Eladah) בְנ֖וֹ (his son), וְתַ֥חַת (and Tahath) בְּנֽוֹ׃ (his son), 21  וְזָבָ֥ד (and Zabad) בְּנ֛וֹ (his son), וְשׁוּתֶ֥לַח (and Shuthelah) בְּנ֖וֹ (his son).

וְעֵ֣זֶר (And Ezer) וְאֶלְעָ֑ד (and Elead) וַהֲרָג֗וּם (and were killed) אַנְשֵׁי־ (by the men) גַת֙ (of Gath) הַנּוֹלָדִ֣ים (who were born) בָּאָ֔רֶץ (in the land), כִּ֣י (because) יָרְד֔וּ (they came down) לָקַ֖חַת (to take away) אֶת־ (-) מִקְנֵיהֶֽם׃ (their livestock).

22  וַיִּתְאַבֵּ֛ל (And mourned) אֶפְרַ֥יִם (Ephraim) אֲבִיהֶ֖ם (their father) יָמִ֣ים (days) רַבִּ֑ים (many), וַיָּבֹ֥אוּ (and came) אֶחָ֖יו (his brothers) לְנַחֲמֽוֹ׃ (to comfort him). 23  וַיָּבֹא֙ (And he went in) אֶל־ (to) אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ (his wife), וַתַּ֖הַר (and she conceived) וַתֵּ֣לֶד (and bore) בֵּ֑ן (a son), וַיִּקְרָ֤א (and he called) אֶת־ (-) שְׁמוֹ֙ (his name) בְּרִיעָ֔ה (Beriah), כִּ֥י (because) בְרָעָ֖ה (disaster) הָיְתָ֥ה (had come) בְּבֵיתֽוֹ׃ (upon his house). 24  וּבִתּ֣וֹ (And his daughter) שֶׁאֱרָ֔ה (was Sheerah), וַתִּ֧בֶן (and she built) אֶת־ (-) בֵּית־ (Beth-) חוֹר֛וֹן (horon) הַתַּחְתּ֖וֹן (Lower) וְאֶת־ (and) הָעֶלְי֑וֹן (Upper), וְאֵ֖ת (and) אֻזֵּ֥ן (Uzzen-) שֶׁאֱרָֽה׃ (sheerah).

25  וְרֶ֣פַח (And Rephah) בְּנ֗וֹ (was his son), וְרֶ֧שֶׁף (and Resheph), וְתֶ֛לַח (and Telah) בְּנ֖וֹ (his son), וְתַ֥חַן (and Tahan) בְּנֽוֹ׃ (his son), 26  לַעְדָּ֥ן (Laadan) בְּנ֛וֹ (his son), עַמִּיה֥וּד (Ammihud) בְּנ֖וֹ (his son), אֱלִישָׁמָ֥ע (Elishama) בְּנֽוֹ׃ (his son), 27  נ֥וֹן (Nun) בְּנ֖וֹ (his son), יְהוֹשֻׁ֥עַ (Joshua) בְּנֽוֹ׃ (his son).

28  וַאֲחֻזָּתָם֙ (And their possessions) וּמֹ֣שְׁבוֹתָ֔ם (and dwelling places) בֵּֽית־ (were Beth-) אֵ֖ל (el) וּבְנֹתֶ֑יהָ (and its daughters), וְלַמִּזְרָ֣ח (and to the east) נַעֲרָ֔ן (Naaran), וְלַֽמַּעֲרָ֗ב (and to the west) גֶּ֤זֶר (Gezer) וּבְנֹתֶ֙יהָ֙ (and its daughters), וּשְׁכֶ֣ם (and Shechem) וּבְנֹתֶ֔יהָ (and its daughters), עַד־ (as far as) עַיָּ֖ה (Ayyah) וּבְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃ (and its daughters). 29  וְעַל־ (And along) יְדֵ֣י (the borders) בְנֵי־ (of the sons) מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה (of Manasseh) בֵּית־ (were Beth-) שְׁאָ֤ן (shean) וּבְנֹתֶ֙יהָ֙ (and its daughters), תַּעְנַ֣ךְ (Taanach) וּבְנֹתֶ֔יהָ (and its daughters), מְגִדּ֥וֹ (Megiddo) וּבְנוֹתֶ֖יהָ (and its daughters), דּ֣וֹר (Dor) וּבְנוֹתֶ֑יהָ (and its daughters). בְּאֵ֙לֶּה֙ (In these) יָשְׁב֔וּ (dwelt) בְּנֵ֥י (the sons) יוֹסֵ֖ף (of Joseph) בֶּן־ (son) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ (of Israel).

The Descendants of Asher

30  בְּנֵ֣י (The sons) אָשֵׁ֗ר (of Asher):

יִמְנָ֧ה (Imnah), וְיִשְׁוָ֛ה (and Ishvah), וְיִשְׁוִ֥י (and Ishvi), וּבְרִיעָ֖ה (and Beriah), וְשֶׂ֥רַח (and Serah) אֲחוֹתָֽם׃ (their sister).

31  וּבְנֵ֣י (And the sons) בְרִיעָ֔ה (of Beriah):

חֶ֖בֶר (Heber) וּמַלְכִּיאֵ֑ל (and Malchiel); ה֖וּא (he was) אֲבִ֥י (the father) בִרְזוֹת׃ (of Birzaith).

32  וְחֶ֙בֶר֙ (And Heber) הוֹלִ֣יד (begat) אֶת־ (-) יַפְלֵ֔ט (Japhlet), וְאֶת־ (and) שׁוֹמֵ֖ר (Shomer), וְאֶת־ (and) חוֹתָ֑ם (Hotham), וְאֵ֖ת (and) שׁוּעָ֥א (Shua) אֲחוֹתָֽם׃ (their sister).

33  וּבְנֵ֣י (And the sons) יַפְלֵ֔ט (of Japhlet):

פָּסַ֥ךְ (Pasach), וּבִמְהָ֖ל (and Bimhal), וְעַשְׁוָ֑ת (and Ashvath). אֵ֖לֶּה (These) בְּנֵ֥י (were the sons) יַפְלֵֽט׃ (of Japhlet).

34  וּבְנֵ֖י (And the sons) שָׁ֑מֶר (of Shemer):

אֲחִ֥י (Ahi), וְרוֹהֲגָה (and Rohgah), יַחְבָּה (and Jehubbah), וַאֲרָֽם׃ (and Aram).

35  וּבֶן־ (And the sons) הֵ֖לֶם (of Helem) אָחִ֑יו (his brother):

צוֹפַ֥ח (ZOphah), וְיִמְנָ֖ע (and Imna), וְשֵׁ֥לֶשׁ (and Shelesh), וְעָמָֽל׃ (and Amal).

36  בְּנֵ֖י (The sons) צוֹפָ֑ח (of Zophah):

ס֧וּחַ (Suah), וְחַרְנֶ֛פֶר (and Harnepher), וְשׁוּעָ֖ל (and Shual), וּבֵרִ֥י (and Beri), וְיִמְרָֽה׃ (and Imrah), 37  בֶּ֣צֶר (Bezer), וָה֗וֹד (and Hod), וְשַׁמָּ֧א (and Shamma), וְשִׁלְשָׁ֛ה (and Shilshah), וְיִתְרָ֖ן (and Ithran), וּבְאֵרָֽא׃ (and Beera).

38  וּבְנֵ֖י (And the sons) יֶ֑תֶר (of Jether):

יְפֻנֶּ֥ה (Jephunneh), וּפִסְפָּ֖ה (and Pispah), וַאְרָֽא׃ (and Ara).

39  וּבְנֵ֖י (And the sons) עֻלָּ֑א (of Ulla):

אָרַ֥ח (Arah), וְחַנִּיאֵ֖ל (and Hanniel), וְרִצְיָֽא׃ (and Rizia).

40  כָּל־ (All) אֵ֣לֶּה (these) בְנֵי־ (were the sons) אָ֠שֵׁר (of Asher), רָאשֵׁ֨י (heads) בֵית־ (of the house) הָאָב֤וֹת (of their fathers), בְּרוּרִים֙ (choice) גִּבּוֹרֵ֣י (mighty men) חֲיָלִ֔ים (of valor), רָאשֵׁ֖י (heads) הַנְּשִׂיאִ֑ים (of the princes). וְהִתְיַחְשָׂ֤ם (And they were reckoned) בַּצָּבָא֙ (for the host) בַּמִּלְחָמָ֔ה (for battle) מִסְפָּרָ֣ם (their number) אֲנָשִׁ֔ים (of men) עֶשְׂרִ֥ים (twenty) וְשִׁשָּׁ֖ה (and six) אָֽלֶף׃ס (thousand).
