Lawsuits among Believers

1Dare any of you, having a matter of complaint against another, try it before the unjust, and not before the saints? 2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy of judging the smallest controversies? 3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? what! and not worthy of judging the affairs of this life? 4Therefore if ye have controversies about the things of this life, do ye set them to judge, who are despised by the church? 5I speak it to your shame. What! is there not one wise man among you, that is able to judge between his bretheren? 6But one brother goeth to law with another, and this before infidels.

7Now there is certainly a fault among you, that ye have law-suits with one another: why do ye not rather endure wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 8But ye do wrong and defraud, and that even your brethren.

Members of Christ

9What! know ye not that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor sodomites, nor thieves, 10nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor rapacious persons, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the spirit of our God.

12All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be under the power of any: 13meats are for the belly, and the belly for meats, but God will destroy both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14And as God hath raised up the Lord, so will He raise up us by his power. 15Know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of an harlot? 16God forbid! What! know ye not that he who is joined to an harlot is one body with her? for these two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17And he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

The Temple of the Holy Spirit
(Romans 12:1–8; 1 Corinthians 3:16–23)

18Flee from whoredom. Every other sin, that a man committeth, is without the body; but he, that committeth whoredom, sinneth against his own body. 19What! know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have from God? 20and ye are not your own, for ye are bought with a price. Glorify God therefore in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
