Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made them.
This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in His own likeness.
By oppression and judgment He was taken away, and who can recount His descendants? For He was cut off from the land of the living; He was stricken for the transgression of My people.
Jesus Himself was about thirty years old when He began His ministry. He was known as the son of Joseph, the son of Heli, . . .
Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them proceeds the human descent of Christ, who is God over all, forever worthy of praise! Amen.
the son of David.
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"
And a Canaanite woman from that region came to Him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is miserably possessed by a demon."
"What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is He?" "David's, " they answered. . . .
2 Samuel 7:13, 16
He will build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. . . .
his offspring will endure forever, and his throne will be like the sun before Me,
The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise He will not revoke: "One of your descendants I will set upon your throne.
Isaiah 9:6, 7
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. . . .
A shoot will spring up from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.
Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will raise up for David a Righteous Branch, and He will reign wisely as king and administer justice and righteousness in the land.
Jeremiah 33:15-17, 26
In those days and at that time I will cause to sprout a Righteous Branch of David, and He will administer justice and righteousness in the land. . . .
"In that day I will restore the fallen tent of David. I will repair its gaps, restore its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old,
On that day the LORD will defend the residents of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the Angel of the LORD going before them.
Luke 1:31, 32, 69, 70
Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son, and you shall give Him the name Jesus. . . .
Doesn't the Scripture say that the Christ will come from the line of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?"
But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that He would place one of his descendants on his throne.
After removing Saul, He raised up David as their king and testified about him: 'I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart; he will carry out My will in its entirety.'
regarding His Son, who was a descendant of David according to flesh,
"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star."
the son of Abraham.
I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you."
And through your offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."
Stay in this land as a foreigner, and I will be with you and bless you. For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring, and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham. . . .
Genesis 28:13, 14
And there at the top the LORD was standing and saying, "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you now lie. . . .
For it was not through the Law that Abraham and his descendants were promised that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, "and to seeds, " meaning many, but "and to your seed, " meaning One, who is Christ.
