Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. 1Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me; for my soul trusts in You. Yes, in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge, until these dangers are passed. 2I will cry unto God Most High; unto God Who fulfills His purpose for me. 3He shall send from heaven, and rebuke and save me from them that would slay me. Selah. God shall send me both His mercy and His truth. 4My soul is surrounded by fierce lions; I am forces to live among men that are like beasts whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. 5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory be above all the earth. 6They have prepared a trap for me; my soul is weary. They have dug a pit meant for me, into which they themselves have fallen. Selah. 7My heart remains steadfast, O God, it is steadfast; I will sing Your praises. 8Awake, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp. I, myself, will awaken early. 9I will praise You, O LORD, among the people; I will sing unto You among the nations. 10For Your mercy is great, reaching to the heavens, and Your truth to the clouds. 11Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory be above all the earth.
