1 And having come, the Pharisees and Sadducees, testing Him, asked Him to show them a sign out of heaven. 2 And answering, He said to them, “Evening having come, you? say, ‘Fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today a storm, for the sky is red, being overcast.’ Indeed, you? know to discern the face of the sky, but the signs of the times you? are not able. 4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and a sign will not be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” And having left them, He went away. 5 And the disciples, having come to the other side, forgot to take loaves. 6 And Jesus said to them, “Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 7 And they were reasoning among themselves, saying, “Because we took no loaves.” 8 But having known this, Jesus said, “Why do you? reason among yourselves, O little of faith, that you? have no loaves? 9 Do you? not yet perceive? Nor do you? remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many hand-baskets you? took up, 10 nor the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you? took up? 11 How do you? not perceive that I did not speak to you? about loaves? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of the loaves, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
