1 Therefore my brothers, loved and longed for, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved. Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!
2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to think the same way in the Lord. I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.
3 Indeed, I ask you also, genuine companion, help these women who have contended together alongside of me in the gospel, with also Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
5 Let your considerate spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is dignified, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, consider these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived thinking about me; indeed, you were thinking about me before, but you lacked opportunity. I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it.
11 Not that I speak from want, for I learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in abundance; in any and all things I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
14 Nevertheless, you have done well to fellowship with me in my affliction. Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles.
15 And you yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church fellowshipped with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone. And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;
16 For even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need.
17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek the fruit which increases to your account. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.
18 But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I have been filled, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
19 And my God will fulfill all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings.
22 All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household. All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household. All God’s people here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
