1 Now it happened that when Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and preach in their cities. When Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in their cities. The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.
6 And blessed is he who does not take offense at Me.” And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.” Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”
7 Now as these men were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? 9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet. What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
10 This is the one about whom it is written, ‘BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER AHEAD OF YOU, WHO WILL PREPARE YOUR WAY BEFORE YOU.’ This is he of whom it is written, “‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’ This is the one about whom it is written: “’I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’
11 Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force. From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.
13 For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John. For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John, For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.
14 And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is Elijah who was to come. and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come. And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.
15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Whoever has ears, let them hear.
16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call out to the other children, “But to what shall I compare this generation? 20 Then He began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles were done, because they did not repent. Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.
21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had occurred in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
23 And Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will descend to Hades; for if the miracles had occurred in Sodom which occurred in you, it would have remained to this day. And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.
24 Nevertheless I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you.” But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.” But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
26 Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
27 All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. “All things have been committed to me by my Father. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.
