Ἀκούετε ἰδοὺ ἐξῆλθεν σπείρων σπεῖραι “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ σπείρειν μὲν ἔπεσεν παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν καὶ ἦλθεν τὰ πετεινὰ καὶ κατέφαγεν αὐτό And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
Καὶ ἄλλο ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ τὸ πετρῶδες (καὶ) ὅπου οὐκ εἶχεν γῆν πολλήν καὶ εὐθὺς ἐξανέτειλεν διὰ τὸ μὴ ἔχειν βάθος γῆς Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
καὶ ὅτε ἀνέτειλεν ἥλιος ἐκαυματίσθη καὶ διὰ τὸ μὴ ἔχειν ῥίζαν ἐξηράνθη And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
Καὶ ἄλλο ἔπεσεν εἰς τὰς ἀκάνθας καὶ ἀνέβησαν αἱ ἄκανθαι καὶ συνέπνιξαν αὐτό καὶ καρπὸν οὐκ ἔδωκεν Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain.
Καὶ ἄλλα ἔπεσεν εἰς τὴν γῆν τὴν καλήν καὶ ἐδίδου καρπὸν ἀναβαίνοντα καὶ αὐξανόμενα καὶ ἔφερεν ἓν* τριάκοντα καὶ ἓν ἑξήκοντα καὶ ἓν ἑκατόν And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”
Καὶ ἔλεγεν Ὃς ἔχει ὦτα ἀκούειν ἀκουέτω And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
