1 He came again into the synagogue, a man was there having a withered hand. Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand. Another time Jesus went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there.
2 And they were watching Him, if He will heal him on the Sabbath, that they might accuse Him. And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him. Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.
3 And He says to the man having a withered hand; Rise up in the midst. And he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come here.” Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
4 And He says to them; Is it lawful to do good or to do evil on the Sabbath; to save life, or to kill? And they were silent. And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent. Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 And looking round on them with indignation, being grieved over the hardness of their hearts, He says to the man; Reach forth thy hand. And he reached it forth and it was restored. And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.
6 And the Pharisees, having gone out immediately along with the Herodians, took counsel against Him in order that they might kill Him. The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him. Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.
7 And Jesus departed with His disciples to the sea: and a great multitude followed Him from Galilee, and from Judea, Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.
8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and from beyond the Jordan, and those about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, hearing so many things that He was doing, came to Him. and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him. When they heard about all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon.
9 And He said to His disciples, that a little boat should wait on Him in order that they may not tread on Him. And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him, Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him.
10 For He healed many; so that they were falling before Him so that they might touch Him, so many as had diseases. for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed around him to touch him. For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him.
11 And unclean spirits, when they saw Him, fell down before Him, and were crying out, saying, Thou art the Son of God. And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”
12 And He charged them much that they should not make Him known. And he strictly ordered them not to make him known. But he gave them strict orders not to tell others about him.
13 And He goes up into the mountain, and calls whom He wished: and they went away to Him. And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him. Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.
14 And He made twelve (apostles) that they may be with Him and that He may send them out to preach, And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach
15 and to have power to heal diseases, and to cast out the demons. and have authority to cast out demons. and to have authority to drive out demons.
16 And He placed the name Peter on Simon; He appointed the twelve: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter); These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter),
17 and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and on them He placed the names Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder: James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder); James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means “sons of thunder”),
18 and Andrew and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot, Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot
19 who also betrayed Him. and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
20 And He comes into a house; and the multitude come together again so they are not able to eat bread. Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat. Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.
21 And those along with Him hearing came out to arrest Him: for they continued to say, He is beside Himself. And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.” When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
22 And the scribes having come down from Jerusalem were saving, He has Beelzebul and He is casting out the demons through the prince of the demons. And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.” And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”
23 And calling them to Him, He continued to speak to them in parables, How is Satan able to cast out Satan? And he called them to him and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom may be divided against itself, that kingdom is not able to stand, If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 and if a house may be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand; And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 and if Satan stand up against himself, and is divided, he is not able to stand, but has an end. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.
27 No one is able, having entered into the house of a strong man, to spoil his goods, unless he may first bind the strong man, and then he will spoil his house. But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house. In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.
28 Truly I say unto you, that all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies whatsoever they may blaspheme: “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter,
29 but whosoever may blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is subject of eternal condemnation. but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
30 Because they were saying, He has an unclean spirit. for they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.” He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”
31 And His mother and His brothers come; and standing without, sent to Him, calling Him. And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him.
32 And the crowd was sitting round Him; and they say to Him, Behold thy mother and thy brothers without are seeking thee. And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.” A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
33 And He responding to them, says, Who is my mother and my brothers? And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
34 And looking round on His disciples sitting about Him in a circle, He says, Behold my mother and my brothers! And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!
35 For whosoever may do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and my mother. For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
