1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had his hand withered. Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand. Another time Jesus went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there.
2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him. Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.
3 And he saith unto the man that had his hand withered, Stand forth. And he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come here.” Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful on the sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to kill? But they held their peace. And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent. Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their heart, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth: and his hand was restored. And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.
6 And the Pharisees went out, and straightway with the Herodians took counsel against him, how they might destroy him. The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him. Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.
7 And Jesus with his disciples withdrew to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed: and from Judaea, Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.
8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and beyond Jordan, and about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came unto him. and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him. When they heard about all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon.
9 And he spake to his disciples, that a little boat should wait on him because of the crowd, lest they should throng him: And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him, Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him.
10 for he had healed many; insomuch that as many as had plagues pressed upon him that they might touch him. for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed around him to touch him. For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him.
11 And the unclean spirits, whensoever they beheld him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”
12 And he charged them much that they should not make him known. And he strictly ordered them not to make him known. But he gave them strict orders not to tell others about him.
13 And he goeth up into the mountain, and calleth unto him whom he himself would: and they went unto him. And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him. Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.
14 And he appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach
15 and to have authority to cast out devils: and have authority to cast out demons. and to have authority to drive out demons.

18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean, Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot, Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot
19 and Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him. And he cometh into a house. and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat. Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.
21 And when his friends heard it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.” When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and, By the prince of the devils casteth he out the devils. And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.” And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? And he called them to him and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan hath risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.
27 But no one can enter into the house of the strong man, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house. In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.
28 Verily I say unto you, All their sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and their blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter,
29 but whosoever shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin: but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
30 because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. for they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.” He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”
31 And there come his mother and his brethren; and, standing without, they sent unto him, calling him. And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him.
32 And a multitude was sitting about him; and they say unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.” A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
33 And he answereth them, and saith, Who is my mother and my brethren? And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
34 And looking round on them which sat round about him, he saith, Behold, my mother and my brethren! And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!
35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
