19	Καὶ αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ μαρτυρία τοῦ Ἰωάννου ὅτε ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἐξ Ἱεροσολύμων ἱερεῖς καὶ Λευίτας ἵνα ἐρωτήσωσιν αὐτόν Σὺ τίς εἶ	And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”	Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was.
20	καὶ ὡμολόγησεν καὶ οὐκ ἠρνήσατο καὶ ὡμολόγησεν ὅτι Ἐγὼ οὐκ εἰμὶ ὁ Χριστός	He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”	He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”
21	Καὶ ἠρώτησαν αὐτόν Τί οὖν σὺ Ἠλίας εἶ Καὶ λέγει Οὐκ εἰμί Ὁ προφήτης εἶ σύ Καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Οὔ	And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”	They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.”
22	Εἶπαν οὖν αὐτῷ Τίς εἶ ἵνα ἀπόκρισιν δῶμεν τοῖς πέμψασιν ἡμᾶς τί λέγεις περὶ σεαυτοῦ	So they said to him, “Who are you? We need to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”	Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”
