6 from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned away to vain talking, Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk.
7 desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say nor about what they strongly affirm. desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
8 But we know that the law is good if a person uses it lawfully, Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.

13 although I used to be a blasphemer, a persecutor, and insolent. 15 The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
16 However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
