1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—
2 for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
4 who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

7 to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am telling the truth in Christ, not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 9 In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety, not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing, likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
10 but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness. but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
11 Let a woman learn in quietness with full submission. Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.
12 But I don’t permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
14 Adam wasn’t deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.
15 but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness with sobriety. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control. But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
