Then, even if some are disobedient to the word, they will be won over without a word by the way you live, Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives,
2 when they see your pure and reverent conduct. when they see your respectful and pure conduct. when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.
3 Let your beauty not be external--the braiding of hair and wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes-- Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
4 but the inner person of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God's sight. but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
8 Finally, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble. Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
