1	And Solomon built his own house in thirteen years, and brought it to perfection.	Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished his entire house.	It took Solomon thirteen years, however, to complete the construction of his palace.
2	He built also the house of the forest of Libanus, the length of it was a hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty cubits, and the height thirty cubits: and four galleries between pillars of cedar: for he had cut cedar trees into pillars.	He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon. Its length was a hundred cubits and its breadth fifty cubits and its height thirty cubits, and it was built on four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams on the pillars.	He built the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon a hundred cubits long, fifty wide and thirty high, with four rows of cedar columns supporting trimmed cedar beams.
3	And he covered the whole vault with boards of cedar, and it was held up with five and forty pillars. And one row had fifteen pillars,	And it was covered with cedar above the chambers that were on the forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row.	It was roofed with cedar above the beams that rested on the columns—forty-five beams, fifteen to a row.
4	Set one against another,	There were window frames in three rows, and window opposite window in three tiers.	Its windows were placed high in sets of three, facing each other.
5	And looking one upon another, with equal space between the pillars, and over the pillars were square beams in- all things equal.	All the doorways and windows had square frames, and window was opposite window in three tiers.	All the doorways had rectangular frames; they were in the front part in sets of three, facing each other.
6	And he made a porch of pillars of fifty cubits in length, and thirty cubits in breadth: and another porch before the greater porch: and pillars, and chapiters upon the pillars.	And he made the Hall of Pillars; its length was fifty cubits, and its breadth thirty cubits. There was a porch in front with pillars, and a canopy in front of them.	He made a colonnade fifty cubits long and thirty wide. In front of it was a portico, and in front of that were pillars and an overhanging roof.
7	He made also the porch of the throne, wherein is the seat of judgment: and covered it with cedar wood from the floor to the top.	And he made the Hall of the Throne where he was to pronounce judgment, even the Hall of Judgment. It was finished with cedar from floor to rafters.	He built the throne hall, the Hall of Justice, where he was to judge, and he covered it with cedar from floor to ceiling.
8	And in the midst of the porch, was a small house where he sat in judgment, of the like work. He made also a house for the daughter of Pharao (whom Solomon had taken to wife) of the same work, as this porch,	His own house where he was to dwell, in the other court back of the hall, was of like workmanship. Solomon also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter whom he had taken in marriage.	And the palace in which he was to live, set farther back, was similar in design. Solomon also made a palace like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had married.
9	All of costly stones, which were sawed by a certain rule and measure both within and without: from the foundation to the top of the walls, and without unto the great court.	All these were made of costly stones, cut according to measure, sawed with saws, back and front, even from the foundation to the coping, and from the outside to the great court.	All these structures, from the outside to the great courtyard and from foundation to eaves, were made of blocks of high-grade stone cut to size and smoothed on their inner and outer faces.
10	And the foundations were of costly stones, great stones of ten cubits or eight cubits:	The foundation was of costly stones, huge stones, stones of eight and ten cubits.	The foundations were laid with large stones of good quality, some measuring ten cubits and some eight.
11	And above there were costly stones, or equal measure, hewed; and, in like manner, planks of cedar:	And above were costly stones, cut according to measurement, and cedar.	Above were high-grade stones, cut to size, and cedar beams.
12	And the greater court was made round with three rows of hewed stones, and one row of planks of cedar, moreover also in the inner court of the house of the Lord, and in the porch of the house.	The great court had three courses of cut stone all around, and a course of cedar beams; so had the inner court of the house of the LORD and the vestibule of the house.	The great courtyard was surrounded by a wall of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams, as was the inner courtyard of the temple of the LORD with its portico.
13	And king Solomon sent, and brought Hiram from Tyre,	And King Solomon sent and brought Hiram from Tyre.	King Solomon sent to Tyre and brought Huram,
14	The son of a widow woman of the tribe of Nephtali, whose father was a Tyrian, an artificer in brass, and full of wisdom, and understanding, and skill to work all work in brass. And when he was come to king Solomon, he wrought all his work.	He was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in bronze. And he was full of wisdom, understanding, and skill for making any work in bronze. He came to King Solomon and did all his work.	whose mother was a widow from the tribe of Naphtali and whose father was from Tyre and a skilled craftsman in bronze. Huram was filled with wisdom, with understanding and with knowledge to do all kinds of bronze work. He came to King Solomon and did all the work assigned to him.
15	And he cast two pillars in brass, each pillar was eighteen cubits high: and a line of twelve cubits compassed both the pillars.	He cast two pillars of bronze. Eighteen cubits was the height of one pillar, and a line of twelve cubits measured its circumference. It was hollow, and its thickness was four fingers. The second pillar was the same.	He cast two bronze pillars, each eighteen cubits high and twelve cubits in circumference.
16	He made also two chapiters of molten brass, to be set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:	He also made two capitals of cast bronze to set on the tops of the pillars. The height of the one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits.	He also made two capitals of cast bronze to set on the tops of the pillars; each capital was five cubits high.
17	And a kind of network, and chain work wreathed together with wonderful art. Both the chapiters of the pillars were cast : seven rows of nets were on one chapiter, and seven nets on the other chapiter.	There were lattices of checker work with wreaths of chain work for the capitals on the tops of the pillars, a lattice for the one capital and a lattice for the other capital.	A network of interwoven chains adorned the capitals on top of the pillars, seven for each capital.
18	And he made the pillars, and two rows round about each network to cover the chapiters, that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and in like manner did he to the other chapiter.	Likewise he made pomegranates in two rows around the one latticework to cover the capital that was on the top of the pillar, and he did the same with the other capital.	He made pomegranates in two rows encircling each network to decorate the capitals on top of the pillars. He did the same for each capital.
19	And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars, were of lily work in the porch, of four cubits.	Now the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars in the vestibule were of lily-work, four cubits.	The capitals on top of the pillars in the portico were in the shape of lilies, four cubits high.
20	And again other chapiters in the top of the pillars above, according to the measure of the pillar over against the network: and of pomegranates there were two hundred in rows round about the other chapiter.	The capitals were on the two pillars and also above the rounded projection which was beside the latticework. There were two hundred pomegranates in two rows all around, and so with the other capital.	On the capitals of both pillars, above the bowl-shaped part next to the network, were the two hundred pomegranates in rows all around.
21	And he set up the two pillars in the porch of the temple: and when he had set up the pillar on the right hand, he called the name thereof Jachin: in like manner he set up the second pillar, and called the name thereof Booz.	He set up the pillars at the vestibule of the temple. He set up the pillar on the south and called its name Jachin, and he set up the pillar on the north and called its name Boaz.	He erected the pillars at the portico of the temple. The pillar to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz.
22	And upon the tops of the pillars he made lily work: so the work of the pillars was finished.	And on the tops of the pillars was lily-work. Thus the work of the pillars was finished.	The capitals on top were in the shape of lilies. And so the work on the pillars was completed.
23	He made also a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round all about; the height of it was five cubits, and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about.	Then he made the sea of cast metal. It was round, ten cubits from brim to brim, and five cubits high, and a line of thirty cubits measured its circumference.	He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits high. It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it.
24	And a graven work under the brim of it compassed it, for ten cubits going about the sea: there were two rows cast of chamfered sculptures.	Under its brim were gourds, for ten cubits, compassing the sea all around. The gourds were in two rows, cast with it when it was cast.	Below the rim, gourds encircled it—ten to a cubit. The gourds were cast in two rows in one piece with the Sea.
25	And it stood upon twelve oxen, of which three looked towards the north, and three towards the west, and three towards the south, and three towards the east, and the sea was above upon them, and their hinder parts were all hid within.	It stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The sea was set on them, and all their rear parts were inward.	The Sea stood on twelve bulls, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south and three facing east. The Sea rested on top of them, and their hindquarters were toward the center.
26	And the laver was a handbreadth thick: and the brim thereof was like the brim of a cup, or the leaf of a crisped lily: it contained two thousand bates.	Its thickness was a handbreadth, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily. It held two thousand baths.	It was a handbreadth in thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held two thousand baths.
27	And he made ten bases of brass, every base was four cubits in length, and four cubits in breadth, and three cubits high.	He also made the ten stands of bronze. Each stand was four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three cubits high.	He also made ten movable stands of bronze; each was four cubits long, four wide and three high.
28	And the work itself of the bases, was intergraven: and there were gravings between the joinings.	This was the construction of the stands: they had panels, and the panels were set in the frames,	This is how the stands were made: They had side panels attached to uprights.
29	And between the little crowns and the ledges were lions, and oxen, and cherubims: and in the joinings likewise above: and under the lions and oxen, as it were bands of brass hanging down.	and on the panels that were set in the frames were lions, oxen, and cherubim. On the frames, both above and below the lions and oxen, there were wreaths of beveled work.	On the panels between the uprights were lions, bulls and cherubim—and on the uprights as well. Above and below the lions and bulls were wreaths of hammered work.
30	And every base had four wheels, and axletrees of brass: and at the four sides were undersetters under the laver molten, looking one against another.	Moreover, each stand had four bronze wheels and axles of bronze, and at the four corners were supports for a basin. The supports were cast with wreaths at the side of each.	Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles, and each had a basin resting on four supports, cast with wreaths on each side.
31	The mouth also of the laver within, was in the top of the chapiter: and that which appeared without, was of one cubit all round, and together it was one cubit and a half: and in the corners of the pillars were divers engravings: and the spaces between the pillars were square, not round.	Its opening was within a crown that projected upward one cubit. Its opening was round, as a pedestal is made, a cubit and a half deep. At its opening there were carvings, and its panels were square, not round.	On the inside of the stand there was an opening that had a circular frame one cubit deep. This opening was round, and with its basework it measured a cubit and a half. Around its opening there was engraving. The panels of the stands were square, not round.
32	And the four wheels, which were at the four corners of the base, were joined one to another under the base: the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half.	And the four wheels were underneath the panels. The axles of the wheels were of one piece with the stands, and the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half.	The four wheels were under the panels, and the axles of the wheels were attached to the stand. The diameter of each wheel was a cubit and a half.
33	And they were such wheels as are used to be made in a chariot: and their axletrees, and spokes, and strakes, and naves, were all east.	The wheels were made like a chariot wheel; their axles, their rims, their spokes, and their hubs were all cast.	The wheels were made like chariot wheels; the axles, rims, spokes and hubs were all of cast metal.
34	And the four undersetters that were at every corner of each base, were of the base itself cast and joined together.	There were four supports at the four corners of each stand. The supports were of one piece with the stands.	Each stand had four handles, one on each corner, projecting from the stand.
35	And in the top of the base there was a round compass of half a cubit, so wrought that the laver might be set thereon, having its gravings, and divers sculptures of itself.	And on the top of the stand there was a round band half a cubit high; and on the top of the stand its stays and its panels were of one piece with it.	At the top of the stand there was a circular band half a cubit deep. The supports and panels were attached to the top of the stand.
36	He engraved also in those plates, which were of brass. and in the corners, cherubims, and lions, and palm trees, in likeness of a man standing, so that they seemed not to be engraven, but added round about.	And on the surfaces of its stays and on its panels, he carved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, according to the space of each, with wreaths all around.	He engraved cherubim, lions and palm trees on the surfaces of the supports and on the panels, in every available space, with wreaths all around.
37	After this manner he made ten bases, of one casting and measure, and the like graving.	After this manner he made the ten stands. All of them were cast alike, of the same measure and the same form.	This is the way he made the ten stands. They were all cast in the same molds and were identical in size and shape.
38	He made also ten lavers of brass: one laver contained four bases, and was of four cubits: and upon every base, in all ten, he put as many lavers.	And he made ten basins of bronze. Each basin held forty baths, each basin measured four cubits, and there was a basin for each of the ten stands.	He then made ten bronze basins, each holding forty baths and measuring four cubits across, one basin to go on each of the ten stands.
39	And he set the ten bases, five on the right side of the temple, and five on the left: and the sea he put on the right side of the temple over against the east southward.	And he set the stands, five on the south side of the house, and five on the north side of the house. And he set the sea at the southeast corner of the house.	He placed five of the stands on the south side of the temple and five on the north. He placed the Sea on the south side, at the southeast corner of the temple.
40	And Hiram made caldrons, and shovels, and basins, and finished all the work of king Solomon in the temple of the Lord.	Hiram also made the pots, the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram finished all the work that he did for King Solomon on the house of the LORD:	He also made the pots and shovels and sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished all the work he had undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of the LORD:
41	The two pillars and the two cords of the chapiters, upon the chapiters of the pillars: and the two networks, to cover the two cords, that were upon the top of the pillars.	the two pillars, the two bowls of the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars, and the two latticeworks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars;	the two pillars; the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the two sets of network decorating the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars;
42	And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks: two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the cords of the chapiters, which were upon the tops of the pillars.	and the four hundred pomegranates for the two latticeworks, two rows of pomegranates for each latticework, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the pillars;	the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of network (two rows of pomegranates for each network decorating the bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars);
43	And the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases.	the ten stands, and the ten basins on the stands;	the ten stands with their ten basins;
44	And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea.	and the one sea, and the twelve oxen underneath the sea.	the Sea and the twelve bulls under it;
45	And the caldrons, and the shovels, and the basins. All the vessels that Hi- ram made for king Solomon for the house of the Lord, were of fine brass.	Now the pots, the shovels, and the basins, all these vessels in the house of the LORD, which Hiram made for King Solomon, were of burnished bronze.	the pots, shovels and sprinkling bowls. All these objects that Huram made for King Solomon for the temple of the LORD were of burnished bronze.
46	In the plains of the Jordan did the king cast them in a clay ground, between Socoth and Sartham.	In the plain of the Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan.	The king had them cast in clay molds in the plain of the Jordan between Sukkoth and Zarethan.
47	And Solomon placed all the vessels: but for exceeding great multitude the brass could not be weighed.	And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because there were so many of them; the weight of the bronze was not ascertained.	Solomon left all these things unweighed, because there were so many; the weight of the bronze was not determined.
48	And Solomon made all the vessels for the house of the Lord: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, upon which the leaves of proposition should be set:	So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of the LORD: the golden altar, the golden table for the bread of the Presence,	Solomon also made all the furnishings that were in the LORD’s temple: the golden altar; the golden table on which was the bread of the Presence;
49	And the golden candlesticks, five on the right hand, and five on the left, over against the oracle, of pure gold: and the flowers like lilies, and the lamps over them of gold: and golden snuffers,	the lampstands of pure gold, five on the south side and five on the north, before the inner sanctuary; the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of gold;	the lampstands of pure gold (five on the right and five on the left, in front of the inner sanctuary); the gold floral work and lamps and tongs;
50	And pots, and fleshhooks, and bowls, and mortars, and censers, of most pure gold: and the hinges for the doors of the inner house of the holy of holies, and for the doors of the house of the temple were of gold.	the cups, snuffers, basins, dishes for incense, and fire pans, of pure gold; and the sockets of gold, for the doors of the innermost part of the house, the Most Holy Place, and for the doors of the nave of the temple.	the pure gold basins, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, dishes and censers; and the gold sockets for the doors of the innermost room, the Most Holy Place, and also for the doors of the main hall of the temple.
51	And Solomon finished all the work that he made in the house of the Lord, and brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, the silver and the gold, and the vessels, and laid them up in the treasures of the house of the Lord.	Thus all the work that King Solomon did on the house of the LORD was finished. And Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, the silver, the gold, and the vessels, and stored them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.	When all the work King Solomon had done for the temple of the LORD was finished, he brought in the things his father David had dedicated—the silver and gold and the furnishings—and he placed them in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple.
