| 1O LORD, don’t rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your rage. | 1To the chief Musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David. O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. |
| 2Have compassion on me, LORD, for I am weak. Heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony. | 2Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. |
| 3I am sick at heart. How long, O LORD, until you restore me? | 3My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long? |
| 4Return, O LORD, and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love. | 4Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake. |
| 5For the dead do not remember you. Who can praise you from the grave? | 5For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? |
| 6I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears. | 6I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. |
| 7My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies. | 7Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. |
| 8Go away, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping. | 8Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. |
| 9The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD will answer my prayer. | 9The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. |
| 10May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified. May they suddenly turn back in shame. | 10Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly. |
