Psalm 7
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
I come to you for protection, O LORD my God. Save me from my persecutors—rescue me!1Shiggaion of David, which he sang unto the LORD, concerning the words of Cush the Benjamite. O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
If you don’t, they will maul me like a lion, tearing me to pieces with no one to rescue me.2Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
O LORD my God, if I have done wrong or am guilty of injustice,3O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
if I have betrayed a friend or plundered my enemy without cause,4If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
then let my enemies capture me. Let them trample me into the ground and drag my honor in the dust. Interlude5Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
Arise, O LORD, in anger! Stand up against the fury of my enemies! Wake up, my God, and bring justice!6Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
Gather the nations before you. Rule over them from on high.7So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
The LORD judges the nations. Declare me righteous, O LORD, for I am innocent, O Most High!8The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
End the evil of those who are wicked, and defend the righteous. For you look deep within the mind and heart, O righteous God.9Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right.10My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day.11God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow.12If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
He will prepare his deadly weapons and shoot his flaming arrows.13He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
The wicked conceive evil; they are pregnant with trouble and give birth to lies.14Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
They dig a deep pit to trap others, then fall into it themselves.15He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
The trouble they make for others backfires on them. The violence they plan falls on their own heads.16His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
I will thank the LORD because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.17I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.
