New Living TranslationKing James Bible
The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”1A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
The LORD will extend your powerful kingdom from Jerusalem ; you will rule over your enemies.2The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
When you go to war, your people will serve you willingly. You are arrayed in holy garments, and your strength will be renewed each day like the morning dew.3Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
The LORD has taken an oath and will not break his vow: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”4The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
The Lord stands at your right hand to protect you. He will strike down many kings when his anger erupts.5The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
He will punish the nations and fill their lands with corpses; he will shatter heads over the whole earth.6He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
But he himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way. He will be victorious.7He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
