Corinthians 13
NKJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New King James VersionNew International Version
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.1If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.3If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part.9For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.10but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
