Corinthians 13
NKJV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.2And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.3If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;4Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;5or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;6it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.7Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.8Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part.9For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.10but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.12For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.13So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
