Psalm 90
NKJV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNET Bible
A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.1A prayer of Moses, the man of God. O Lord, you have been our protector through all generations!
Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.2Even before the mountains came into existence, or you brought the world into being, you were the eternal God.
You turn man to destruction, And say, “Return, O children of men.”3You make mankind return to the dust, and say, "Return, O people!"
For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.4Yes, in your eyes a thousand years are like yesterday that quickly passes, or like one of the divisions of the nighttime.
You carry them away like a flood; They are like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up:5You bring their lives to an end and they "fall asleep." In the morning they are like the grass that sprouts up;
In the morning it flourishes and grows up; In the evening it is cut down and withers.6in the morning it glistens and sprouts up; at evening time it withers and dries up.
For we have been consumed by Your anger, And by Your wrath we are terrified.7Yes, we are consumed by your anger; we are terrified by your wrath.
You have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.8You are aware of our sins; you even know about our hidden sins.
For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh.9Yes, throughout all our days we experience your raging fury; the years of our lives pass quickly, like a sigh.
The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.10The days of our lives add up to seventy years, or eighty, if one is especially strong. But even one's best years are marred by trouble and oppression. Yes, they pass quickly and we fly away.
Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath.11Who can really fathom the intensity of your anger? Your raging fury causes people to fear you.
So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.12So teach us to consider our mortality, so that we might live wisely.
Return, O LORD! How long? And have compassion on Your servants.13Turn back toward us, O LORD! How long must this suffering last? Have pity on your servants!
Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days!14Satisfy us in the morning with your loyal love! Then we will shout for joy and be happy all our days!
Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, The years in which we have seen evil.15Make us happy in proportion to the days you have afflicted us, in proportion to the years we have experienced trouble!
Let Your work appear to Your servants, And Your glory to their children.16May your servants see your work! May their sons see your majesty!
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.17May our sovereign God extend his favor to us! Make our endeavors successful! Yes, make them successful!
