| 1Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: | 1Then the LORD said to Moses, |
| 2“Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering. | 2“Tell the Israelites to bring Me an offering. You are to receive My offering from every man whose heart compels him. |
| 3And this is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze; | 3This is the offering you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze; |
| 4blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats’ hair; | 4blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; |
| 5ram skins dyed red, badger skins, and acacia wood; | 5ram skins dyed red and fine leather; acacia wood; |
| 6oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense; | 6olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; |
| 7onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate. | 7and onyx stones and gemstones to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. |
| 8And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. | 8And they are to make a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them. |
| 9According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it. | 9You must make the tabernacle and design all its furnishings according to the pattern I show you. |
| 10“And they shall make an ark of acacia wood; two and a half cubits shall be its length, a cubit and a half its width, and a cubit and a half its height. | 10And they are to construct an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. |
| 11And you shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and out you shall overlay it, and shall make on it a molding of gold all around. | 11Overlay it with pure gold both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. |
| 12You shall cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in its four corners; two rings shall be on one side, and two rings on the other side. | 12Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, two rings on one side and two on the other. |
| 13And you shall make poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. | 13And make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. |
| 14You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, that the ark may be carried by them. | 14Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, in order to carry it. |
| 15The poles shall be in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it. | 15The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed. |
| 16And you shall put into the ark the Testimony which I will give you. | 16And place inside the ark the Testimony, which I will give you. |
| 17“You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width. | 17And you are to construct a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide. |
| 18And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat. | 18Make two cherubim of hammered gold at the ends of the mercy seat, |
| 19Make one cherub at one end, and the other cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim at the two ends of it of one piece with the mercy seat. | 19one cherub on one end and one on the other, all made from one piece of gold. |
| 20And the cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they shall face one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat. | 20And the cherubim are to have wings that spread upward, overshadowing the mercy seat. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the mercy seat. |
| 21You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. | 21Set the mercy seat atop the ark, and put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark. |
| 22And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel. | 22And I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony; I will speak with you about all that I command you regarding the Israelites. |
| 23“You shall also make a table of acacia wood; two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its width, and a cubit and a half its height. | 23You are also to make a table of acacia wood two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high. |
| 24And you shall overlay it with pure gold, and make a molding of gold all around. | 24Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it. |
| 25You shall make for it a frame of a handbreadth all around, and you shall make a gold molding for the frame all around. | 25And make a rim around it a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim. |
| 26And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings on the four corners that are at its four legs. | 26Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners at its four legs. |
| 27The rings shall be close to the frame, as holders for the poles to bear the table. | 27The rings are to be close to the rim, to serve as holders for the poles used to carry the table. |
| 28And you shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be carried with them. | 28Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them. |
| 29You shall make its dishes, its pans, its pitchers, and its bowls for pouring. You shall make them of pure gold. | 29You are also to make the plates and dishes, as well as the pitchers and bowls for pouring drink offerings. Make them out of pure gold. |
| 30And you shall set the showbread on the table before Me always. | 30And place the Bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times. |
| 31“You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers shall be of one piece. | 31Then you are to make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. It shall be made of one piece, including its base and shaft, its cups, and its buds and petals. |
| 32And six branches shall come out of its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side. | 32Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other. |
| 33Three bowls shall be made like almond blossoms on one branch, with an ornamental knob and a flower, and three bowls made like almond blossoms on the other branch, with an ornamental knob and a flower—and so for the six branches that come out of the lampstand. | 33There are to be three cups shaped like almond blossoms on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches that extend from the lampstand. |
| 34On the lampstand itself four bowls shall be made like almond blossoms, each with its ornamental knob and flower. | 34And on the lampstand there shall be four cups shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals. |
| 35And there shall be a knob under the first two branches of the same, a knob under the second two branches of the same, and a knob under the third two branches of the same, according to the six branches that extend from the lampstand. | 35For the six branches that extend from the lampstand, a bud must be under the first pair of branches, a bud under the second pair, and a bud under the third pair. |
| 36Their knobs and their branches shall be of one piece; all of it shall be one hammered piece of pure gold. | 36The buds and branches are to be all of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold. |
| 37You shall make seven lamps for it, and they shall arrange its lamps so that they give light in front of it. | 37Make seven lamps and set them up on the lampstand so that they illuminate the area in front of it. |
| 38And its wick-trimmers and their trays shall be of pure gold. | 38The wick trimmers and their trays must be of pure gold. |
| 39It shall be made of a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils. | 39The lampstand and all these utensils shall be made from a talent of pure gold. |
| 40And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain. | 40See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain. |
