New International Version | New Living Translation |
Of David. In you, LORD my God, I put my trust. | 1O LORD, I give my life to you. |
I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. | 2I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. |
No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. | 3No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. |
Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. | 4Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. |
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. | 5Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. |
Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. | 6Remember, O LORD, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. |
Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good. | 7Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O LORD. |
Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. | 8The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. |
He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. | 9He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. |
All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant. | 10The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. |
For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. | 11For the honor of your name, O LORD, forgive my many, many sins. |
Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. | 12Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose. |
They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land. | 13They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the land. |
The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. | 14The LORD is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant. |
My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare. | 15My eyes are always on the LORD, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies. |
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. | 16Turn to me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress. |
Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. | 17My problems go from bad to worse. Oh, save me from them all! |
Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. | 18Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins. |
See how numerous are my enemies and how fiercely they hate me! | 19See how many enemies I have and how viciously they hate me! |
Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. | 20Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for in you I take refuge. |
May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, LORD, is in you. | 21May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you. |
Deliver Israel, O God, from all their troubles! | 22O God, ransom Israel from all its troubles. |
