New International Version | Christian Standard Bible |
Of David. In you, LORD my God, I put my trust. | 1LORD, I appeal to you. |
I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. | 2My God, I trust in you. Do not let me be disgraced; do not let my enemies gloat over me. |
No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. | 3No one who waits for you will be disgraced; those who act treacherously without cause will be disgraced. |
Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. | 4Make your ways known to me, LORD; teach me your paths. |
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. | 5Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; I wait for you all day long. |
Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. | 6Remember, LORD, your compassion and your faithful love, for they have existed from antiquity. |
Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good. | 7Do not remember the sins of my youth or my acts of rebellion; in keeping with your faithful love, remember me because of your goodness, LORD. |
Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. | 8The LORD is good and upright; therefore he shows sinners the way. |
He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. | 9He leads the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. |
All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant. | 10All the LORD's ways show faithful love and truth to those who keep his covenant and decrees. |
For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. | 11LORD, for the sake of your name, forgive my iniquity, for it is immense. |
Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. | 12Who is this person who fears the LORD? He will show him the way he should choose. |
They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land. | 13He will live a good life, and his descendants will inherit the land. |
The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. | 14The secret counsel of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he reveals his covenant to them. |
My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare. | 15My eyes are always on the LORD, for he will pull my feet out of the net. |
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. | 16Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am alone and afflicted. |
Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. | 17The distresses of my heart increase; bring me out of my sufferings. |
Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. | 18Consider my affliction and trouble, and forgive all my sins. |
See how numerous are my enemies and how fiercely they hate me! | 19Consider my enemies; they are numerous, and they hate me violently. |
Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. | 20Guard me and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. |
May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, LORD, is in you. | 21May integrity and what is right watch over me, for I wait for you. |
Deliver Israel, O God, from all their troubles! | 22God, redeem Israel, from all its distresses. |
