Psalm 16
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
1A prayer of David. Protect me, O God, for I have taken shelter in you. 1Keep me safe, God, for I take refuge in you.
2I say to the LORD, "You are the Lord, my only source of well-being." 2I told the LORD, "You are my master, I have nothing good apart from you."
3As for God's chosen people who are in the land, and the leading officials I admired so much--3As for the saints that are in the land, they are noble, and all my delight is in them.
4their troubles multiply, they desire other gods. I will not pour out drink offerings of blood to their gods, nor will I make vows in the name of their gods. 4Those who hurry after another god will have many sorrows; I will not present their drink offerings of blood, nor will my lips speak their names.
5LORD, you give me stability and prosperity; you make my future secure. 5The LORD is my inheritance and my cup; you support my lot.
6It is as if I have been given fertile fields or received a beautiful tract of land. 6The boundary lines have fallen in pleasant places for me; truly, I have a beautiful heritage.
7I will praise the LORD who guides me; yes, during the night I reflect and learn. 7I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; indeed, my conscience instructs me during the night.
8I constantly trust in the LORD; because he is at my right hand, I will not be upended. 8I have set the LORD before me continuously; because he stands at my right hand, I will stand firm.
9So my heart rejoices and I am happy; My life is safe. 9Therefore, my heart is glad, my whole being rejoices, and my body will dwell securely.
10You will not abandon me to Sheol; you will not allow your faithful follower to see the Pit. 10For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, you will not allow your holy one to experience corruption.
11You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolute joy in your presence; you always give me sheer delight. 11You cause me to know the path of life; in your presence is joyful abundance, at your right hand there are pleasures forever.
