1The LORD spoke to Moses:1The LORD also spoke to Moses: "
2"See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,2Look, I have appointed by name Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
3and I have filled him with the Spirit of God in skill, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship,3I have filled him with God's Spirit, with wisdom, understanding, and ability in every craft
4to make artistic designs for work with gold, with silver, and with bronze,4to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze,
5and with cutting and setting stone, and with cutting wood, to work in all kinds of craftsmanship.5to cut gemstones for mounting, and to carve wood for work in every craft.
6Moreover, I have also given him Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, and I have given ability to all the specially skilled, that they may make everything I have commanded you:6I have also selected Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to be with him. I have placed wisdom within every skilled craftsman in order to make all that I have commanded you:
7the tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony, the atonement lid that is on it, all the furnishings of the tent,7the tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony, the mercy seat that is on top of it, and all the other furnishings of the tent--
8the table with its utensils, the pure lampstand with all its utensils, the altar of incense,8the table with its utensils, the pure gold lampstand with all its utensils, the altar of incense,
9the altar for the burnt offering with all its utensils, the large basin with its base,9the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, the basin with its stand--
10the woven garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons, to minister as priests,10the specially woven garments, both the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons to serve as priests,
11the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the Holy Place. They will make all these things just as I have commanded you." 11the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense for the sanctuary. They must make them according to all that I have commanded you."
12The LORD said to Moses,12The LORD said to Moses: "
13"Tell the Israelites, 'Surely you must keep my Sabbaths, for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.13Tell the Israelites: You must observe My Sabbaths, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, so that you will know that I am Yahweh who sets you apart.
14So you must keep the Sabbath, for it is holy for you. Everyone who defiles it must surely be put to death; indeed, if anyone does any work on it, then that person will be cut off from among his people.14Observe the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Whoever profanes it must be put to death. If anyone does work on it, that person must be cut off from his people.
15Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.15Work may be done for six days, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest, dedicated to the LORD. Anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.
16The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.16The Israelites must observe the Sabbath, celebrating it throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.
17It is a sign between me and the Israelites forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.'" 17It is a sign forever between Me and the Israelites, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, but on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed."
18He gave Moses two tablets of testimony when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, tablets of stone written by the finger of God. 18When He finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, He gave him the two tablets of the testimony, stone tablets inscribed by the finger of God.
