1The LORD spoke to Moses:1The LORD said to Moses,
2"Tell the Israelites to take an offering for me; from every person motivated by a willing heart you are to receive my offering.2“Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.
3This is the offering you are to accept from them: gold, silver, bronze,3And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze,
4blue, purple, scarlet, fine linen, goat's hair,4blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair,
5ram skins dyed red, fine leather, acacia wood,5tanned rams’ skins, goatskins, acacia wood,
6oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for fragrant incense,6oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,
7onyx stones, and other gems to be set in the ephod and in the breastpiece.7onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
8Let them make for me a sanctuary, so that I may live among them.8And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.
9According to all that I am showing you--the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings--you must make it exactly so. 9Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.
10"They are to make an ark of acacia wood--its length is to be three feet nine inches, its width two feet three inches, and its height two feet three inches.10“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.
11You are to overlay it with pure gold--both inside and outside you must overlay it, and you are to make a surrounding border of gold over it.11You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it.
12You are to cast four gold rings for it and put them on its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other side.12You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it.
13You are to make poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold,13You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
14and put the poles into the rings at the sides of the ark in order to carry the ark with them.14And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them.
15The poles must remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed from it.15The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it.
16You are to put into the ark the testimony that I will give to you. 16And you shall put into the ark the testimony that I shall give you.
17"You are to make an atonement lid of pure gold; its length is to be three feet nine inches, and its width is to be two feet three inches.17“You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.
18You are to make two cherubim of gold; you are to make them of hammered metal on the two ends of the atonement lid.18And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat.
19Make one cherub on one end and one cherub on the other end; from the atonement lid you are to make the cherubim on the two ends.19Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends.
20The cherubim are to be spreading their wings upward, overshadowing the atonement lid with their wings, and the cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the atonement lid.20The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.
21You are to put the atonement lid on top of the ark, and in the ark you are to put the testimony I am giving you.21And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.
22I will meet with you there, and from above the atonement lid, from between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will command you for the Israelites. 22There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.
23"You are to make a table of acacia wood; its length is to be three feet, its width one foot six inches, and its height two feet three inches.23“You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.
24You are to overlay it with pure gold, and you are to make a surrounding border of gold for it.24You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it.
25You are to make a surrounding frame for it about three inches broad, and you are to make a surrounding border of gold for its frame.25And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth wide, and a molding of gold around the rim.
26You are to make four rings of gold for it and attach the rings at the four corners where its four legs are.26And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs.
27The rings are to be close to the frame to provide places for the poles to carry the table.27Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table.
28You are to make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them.28You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these.
29You are to make its plates, its ladles, its pitchers, and its bowls, to be used in pouring out offerings; you are to make them of pure gold.29And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold.
30You are to set the Bread of the Presence on the table before me continually. 30And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly.
31"You are to make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand is to be made of hammered metal; its base and its shaft, its cups, its buds, and its blossoms are to be from the same piece.31“You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it.
32Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand, three branches of the lampstand from one side of it and three branches of the lampstand from the other side of it.32And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it;
33Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, and three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on the next branch, and the same for the six branches extending from the lampstand.33three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.
34On the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms,34And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers,
35with a bud under the first two branches from it, and a bud under the next two branches from it, and a bud under the third two branches from it, according to the six branches that extend from the lampstand.35and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out from the lampstand.
36Their buds and their branches will be one piece, all of it one hammered piece of pure gold. 36Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it a single piece of hammered work of pure gold.
37"You are to make its seven lamps, and then set its lamps up on it, so that it will give light to the area in front of it.37You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it.
38Its trimmers and its trays are to be of pure gold.38Its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold.
39About seventy-five pounds of pure gold is to be used for it and for all these utensils.39It shall be made, with all these utensils, out of a talent of pure gold.
40Now be sure to make them according to the pattern you were shown on the mountain. 40And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain.
