Psalm 23

King James BibleNET Bible
1A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.1A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.2He takes me to lush pastures, he leads me to refreshing water.
3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.3He restores my strength. He leads me down the right paths for the sake of his reputation.
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.4Even when I must walk through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff reassure me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.5You prepare a feast before me in plain sight of my enemies. You refresh my head with oil; my cup is completely full.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.6Surely your goodness and faithfulness will pursue me all my days, and I will live in the LORD's house for the rest of my life.
