Psalm 90
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.1Lord, you've been our refuge from generation to generation.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.2Before the mountains were formed or the earth and the world were brought forth, you are God from eternity to eternity.
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.3You return people to dust merely by saying, "Return, you mortals!"
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.4One thousand years in your sight are but a single day that passes by, just like a night watch.
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.5You will sweep them away while they are asleep— by morning they are like growing grass.
In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.6In the morning it blossoms and is renewed, but toward evening, it fades and withers.
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.7Indeed, we are consumed by your anger and terrified by your wrath.
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.8You have set our iniquities before you, what we have concealed in the light of your presence.
For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.9All our days pass away in your wrath; our years fade away and end like a sigh.
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.10We live for 70 years, or 80 years if we're healthy, yet even in the prime years there are troubles and sorrow. They pass by quickly and we fly away.
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.11Who can know the intensity of your anger? Because our fear of you matches your wrath,
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.12teach us to keep account of our days so we may develop inner wisdom.
Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.13Please return, LORD! When will it be? Comfort your servants.
O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.14Satisfy us in the morning with your gracious love so we may sing for joy and rejoice every day.
Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.15Cause us to rejoice throughout the time when you have afflicted us, the years when we have known trouble.
Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.16May your awesome deeds be revealed to your servants, as well as your splendor to their children.
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.17May your favor be on us, Lord our God; make our endeavors successful; yes, make our endeavors secure!
