1The LORD told Moses, 1The LORD said to Moses,
2"Tell the Israelis to take an offering for me, and you are to accept my offering from every person whose heart moves him to give.2“Tell the people of Israel to bring me their sacred offerings. Accept the contributions from all whose hearts are moved to offer them.
3This is the offering that you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze; 3Here is a list of sacred offerings you may accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze;
4blue, purple, and scarlet material; fine linen and goat hair; 4blue, purple, and scarlet thread; fine linen and goat hair for cloth;
5ram skins dyed red, dolphin skins, and acacia wood; 5tanned ram skins and fine goatskin leather; acacia wood;
6oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for aromatic incense; 6olive oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and the fragrant incense;
7and onyx stones, stones for setting on the ephod and the breast piece.7onyx stones, and other gemstones to be set in the ephod and the priest’s chestpiece.
8Let them make a sanctuary for me so I may live among them. 8“Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them.
9This is how you are to make it: according to all that I'm showing you, according to the pattern for the tent and the pattern for all its furnishings."9You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you. Plans for the Ark of the Covenant
10"They are to make an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high. 10“Have the people make an Ark of acacia wood—a sacred chest 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high.
11You are to overlay it with pure gold—you are to overlay it inside and outside—and you are to make a gold molding around it. 11Overlay it inside and outside with pure gold, and run a molding of gold all around it.
12You are to cast four rings for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on one side of it and two rings on its other side. 12Cast four gold rings and attach them to its four feet, two rings on each side.
13You are to make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 13Make poles from acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.
14You are to put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark with which to carry it.14Insert the poles into the rings at the sides of the Ark to carry it.
15The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark and are not to be removed from it. 15These carrying poles must stay inside the rings; never remove them.
16You are to put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark.16When the Ark is finished, place inside it the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you.
17"You are to make a Mercy Seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide. 17“Then make the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—from pure gold. It must be 45 inches long and 27 inches wide.
18You are to make two cherubim of gold; you are to make them of hammered work at the two ends of the Mercy Seat. 18Then make two cherubim from hammered gold, and place them on the two ends of the atonement cover.
19Place one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end. You are to make the cherubim at the two ends of the Mercy Seat, and of one piece with it. 19Mold the cherubim on each end of the atonement cover, making it all of one piece of gold.
20The cherubim are to spread their wings upward, covering the Mercy Seat with their wings and facing each other. The faces of the cherubim is to be turned toward the Mercy Seat. 20The cherubim will face each other and look down on the atonement cover. With their wings spread above it, they will protect it.
21You are to put the Mercy Seat on top of the ark, and put the Testimony that I'll give you into the ark. 21Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you. Then put the atonement cover on top of the Ark.
22I'll meet with you there, and I'll tell you all my commandments for the Israelis from above the Mercy Seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the Ark of the Testimony."22I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel. Plans for the Table
23"You are to make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, a cubit wide, and one and a half cubits high. 23“Then make a table of acacia wood, 36 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 27 inches high.
24You are to overlay it with pure gold, and put a gold molding around it. 24Overlay it with pure gold and run a gold molding around the edge.
25You are to make a rim one handbreadth in width around it, and you are to make a gold molding around the rim. 25Decorate it with a 3-inch border all around, and run a gold molding along the border.
26You are to make four gold rings for it, and put the rings on the four corners where its four feet are. 26Make four gold rings for the table and attach them at the four corners next to the four legs.
27The rings are to be close to the rim as holders for the poles to carry the table. 27Attach the rings near the border to hold the poles that are used to carry the table.
28You are to make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold so the table can be carried with them. 28Make these poles from acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.
29You are to make its plates, dishes, jars, and bowls from which libations will be poured, and you are to make them of pure gold. 29Make special containers of pure gold for the table—bowls, ladles, pitchers, and jars—to be used in pouring out liquid offerings.
30You are to put the bread of the Presence on the table before me continuously."30Place the Bread of the Presence on the table to remain before me at all times. Plans for the Lampstand
31"You are to make a lamp stand of pure gold: the lamp stand and its base and stem shall be of hammered work, and its cups, calyxes, and flowers are to be of one piece with it. 31“Make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. Make the entire lampstand and its decorations of one piece—the base, center stem, lamp cups, buds, and petals.
32Six branches are to extend from its sides, three branches of the lamp stand from one side of it and three branches of the lamp stand from its other side. 32Make it with six branches going out from the center stem, three on each side.
33Three cups shaped like almond blossoms with calyxes and flowers are to be on one branch and three cups shaped like almond blossoms with calyxes and flowers are to be on the other branch, and so for the six branches extending from the lamp stand.33Each of the six branches will have three lamp cups shaped like almond blossoms, complete with buds and petals.
34"On the lamp stand itself there are to be four cups shaped like almond blossoms with their calyxes and flowers. 34Craft the center stem of the lampstand with four lamp cups shaped like almond blossoms, complete with buds and petals.
35A calyx is to be under the two branches that extend out of the stem; a calyx is to be under the next pair of branches that extend out of the stem; and a calyx is to be under the last pair of branches that extend out of the stem, and so for the six branches extending from the lamp stand. 35There will also be an almond bud beneath each pair of branches where the six branches extend from the center stem.
36Their calyxes and their branches are to be of one piece with it; all of it is to be made of one piece of hammered work of pure gold.36The almond buds and branches must all be of one piece with the center stem, and they must be hammered from pure gold.
37"You are to make seven lamps for it, and its lamps are to be mounted so as to give light in front of it. 37Then make the seven lamps for the lampstand, and set them so they reflect their light forward.
38Its tongs and trays are to be of pure gold. 38The lamp snuffers and trays must also be made of pure gold.
39The lamp stand —together with all its furnishings—is to be made from a talent of pure gold. 39You will need 75 pounds of pure gold for the lampstand and its accessories.
40Now see that you make them according to the pattern for them which you are being shown on the mountain."40“Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain.
