| 2Beautifully situated, the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion towards the north, the city of the great King. | 2Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. |
| 3Within her citadels God is known as a place of refuge. | 3God is known in her palaces for a refuge. |
| 4Behold, when the kings assembled together, when they traveled together, | 4For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together. |
| 5they looked and were awestruck; they became afraid and ran away. | 5They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away. |

| 12March around Zion; encircle her; count her towers. | 12Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof. |
| 13Take note of her ramparts; investigate her citadels; that you may speak about them to the next generation. | 13Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following. |
