Psalm 33
ISV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionChristian Standard Bible
Rejoice in the LORD, righteous ones; for the praise of the upright is beautiful.1Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous ones; praise from the upright is beautiful.
With the lyre, give thanks to the LORD; with the ten stringed harp, play music to him;2Praise the LORD with the lyre; make music to him with a ten-stringed harp.
with a new song, sing to him; with shouts of joy, play skillfully.3Sing a new song to him; play skillfully on the strings, with a joyful shout.
For the word of the LORD is upright; and all his works are done in faithfulness.4For the word of the LORD is right, and all his work is trustworthy.
He loves righteousness and justice; the world is filled with the gracious love of the LORD.5He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the LORD's unfailing love.
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made; all the heavenly bodies by the breath of his mouth.6The heavens were made by the word of the LORD, and all the stars, by the breath of his mouth.
He gathered the oceans into a single place; he put the deep water into storehouses.7He gathers the water of the sea into a heap; he puts the depths into storehouses.
Let all the world fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him;8Let the whole earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
because he spoke and it came to be, because he commanded, it stood firm.9For he spoke, and it came into being; he commanded, and it came into existence.
The LORD makes void the counsel of nations; he frustrates the plans of peoples.10The LORD frustrates the counsel of the nations; he thwarts the plans of the peoples.
But the LORD's counsel stands firm forever, the plans in his mind for all generations.11The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart from generation to generation.
How blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen as his own inheritance.12Happy is the nation whose God is the LORD--the people he has chosen to be his own possession!
When the LORD looks down from heaven, he observes every human being.13The LORD looks down from heaven; he observes everyone.
From his dwelling place, he looks down on all the inhabitants of the earth.14He gazes on all the inhabitants of the earth from his dwelling place.
He formed the hearts of them all; he understands everything they do.15He forms the hearts of them all; he considers all their works.
A king is not saved by a large army; a mighty soldier is not delivered by his great strength.16A king is not saved by a large army; a warrior will not be rescued by great strength.
It is vain to trust in a horse for deliverance, even with its great strength, it cannot deliver.17The horse is a false hope for safety; it provides no escape by its great power.
Indeed, the LORD watches those who fear him; those who trust in his gracious love18But look, the LORD keeps his eye on those who fear him--those who depend on his faithful love
to deliver them from death; to keep them alive in times of famine.19to rescue them from death and to keep them alive in famine.
We wait on the LORD; he is our help and our shield.20We wait for the LORD; he is our help and shield.
Indeed, our heart will rejoice in him, because we have placed our trust in his holy name.21For our hearts rejoice in him because we trust in his holy name.
LORD, may your gracious love be upon us, even as we hope in you.22May your faithful love rest on us, LORD, for we put our hope in you.
