Then after the exile to Babylon Jechoniah fathered Shealtiel, Shealtiel fathered Zerubbabel, 12And after the deportation to Babylon: Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,

So all the generations from Abraham to David were 14 generations; and from David until the exile to Babylon, 14 generations; and from the exile to Babylon until the Messiah, 14 generations. 17So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations.
The birth of Jesus Christ came about this way: After His mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, it was discovered before they came together that she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit.18Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
So her husband Joseph, being a righteous man, and not wanting to disgrace her publicly, decided to divorce her secretly. 19And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.
But after he had considered these things, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what has been conceived in her is by the Holy Spirit.20But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
She will give birth to a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins." 21She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name Him Immanuel, which is translated "God is with us." 23“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
When Joseph got up from sleeping, he did as the Lord's angel had commanded him. He married her24When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife,
but did not know her intimately until she gave birth to a son. And he named Him Jesus. 25but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.
