1The LORD said to Moses,

1Then the LORD said to Moses,

2“Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.

2“Tell the Israelites to bring Me an offering. You are to receive My offering from every man whose heart compels him.

3And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze,

3This is the offering you are to accept from them: gold, silver, and bronze;

4blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair,

4blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair;

5tanned rams’ skins, goatskins, acacia wood,

5ram skins dyed red and fine leather; acacia wood;

6oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,

6olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;

7onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.

7and onyx stones and gemstones to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.

8And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.

8And they are to make a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them.

9Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.

9You must make the tabernacle and design all its furnishings according to the pattern I show you.

10“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.

10And they are to construct an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.

11You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it.

11Overlay it with pure gold both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it.

12You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it.

12Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, two rings on one side and two on the other.

13You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.

13And make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.

14And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them.

14Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, in order to carry it.

15The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it.

15The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed.

16And you shall put into the ark the testimony that I shall give you.

16And place inside the ark the Testimony, which I will give you.

17“You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.

17And you are to construct a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.

18And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat.

18Make two cherubim of hammered gold at the ends of the mercy seat,

19Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends.

19one cherub on one end and one on the other, all made from one piece of gold.

20The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.

20And the cherubim are to have wings that spread upward, overshadowing the mercy seat. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the mercy seat.

21And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.

21Set the mercy seat atop the ark, and put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark.

22There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.

22And I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony; I will speak with you about all that I command you regarding the Israelites.

23“You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height.

23You are also to make a table of acacia wood two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high.

24You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it.

24Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it.

25And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth wide, and a molding of gold around the rim.

25And make a rim around it a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim.

26And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs.

26Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners at its four legs.

27Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table.

27The rings are to be close to the rim, to serve as holders for the poles used to carry the table.

28You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these.

28Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them.

29And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold.

29You are also to make the plates and dishes, as well as the pitchers and bowls for pouring drink offerings. Make them out of pure gold.

30And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly.

30And place the Bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times.

31“You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it.

31Then you are to make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. It shall be made of one piece, including its base and shaft, its cups, and its buds and petals.

32And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it;

32Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other.

33three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.

33There are to be three cups shaped like almond blossoms on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches that extend from the lampstand.

34And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers,

34And on the lampstand there shall be four cups shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals.

35and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out from the lampstand.

35For the six branches that extend from the lampstand, a bud must be under the first pair of branches, a bud under the second pair, and a bud under the third pair.

36Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it a single piece of hammered work of pure gold.

36The buds and branches are to be all of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.

37You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it.

37Make seven lamps and set them up on the lampstand so that they illuminate the area in front of it.

38Its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold.

38The wick trimmers and their trays must be of pure gold.

39It shall be made, with all these utensils, out of a talent of pure gold.

39The lampstand and all these utensils shall be made from a talent of pure gold.

40And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain.

40See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
