BSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleEnglish Standard Version
For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; save me by Your righteousness.1In you, O LORD, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me!
Incline Your ear to me; come quickly to my rescue. Be my rock of refuge, the stronghold of my deliverance.2Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me!
For You are my rock and my fortress; lead me and guide me for the sake of Your name.3For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me;
You free me from the net laid out for me, for You are my refuge.4you take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge.
Into Your hands I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O LORD, God of truth.5Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God.
I hate those who cling to worthless idols, but in the LORD I trust.6I hate those who pay regard to worthless idols, but I trust in the LORD.
I will be glad and rejoice in Your loving devotion, for You have seen my affliction; You have known the anguish of my soul.7I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have known the distress of my soul,
You have not delivered me to the enemy; You have set my feet in the open.8and you have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a broad place.
Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eyes fail from sorrow, my soul and body as well.9Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also.
For my life is consumed with grief and my years with groaning; my iniquity has drained my strength, and my bones are wasting away.10For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away.
Among all my enemies I am a disgrace, and among my neighbors even more. I am dreaded by my friends—they flee when they see me on the street.11Because of all my adversaries I have become a reproach, especially to my neighbors, and an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me.
I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind. I am like a broken vessel.12I have been forgotten like one who is dead; I have become like a broken vessel.
For I hear the slander of many; there is terror on every side. They conspire against me and plot to take my life.13For I hear the whispering of many— terror on every side!— as they scheme together against me, as they plot to take my life.
But I trust in You, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.”14But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.15My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!
Make Your face shine on Your servant; save me by Your loving devotion.16Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love!
O LORD, let me not be ashamed, for I have called on You. Let the wicked be put to shame; let them lie silent in Sheol.17O LORD, let me not be put to shame, for I call upon you; let the wicked be put to shame; let them go silently to Sheol.
May lying lips be silenced—lips that speak with arrogance against the righteous, full of pride and contempt.18Let the lying lips be mute, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt.
How great is Your goodness which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have bestowed before the sons of men on those who take refuge in You!19Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind!
You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the schemes of men. You conceal them in Your shelter from accusing tongues.20In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men; you store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues.
Blessed be the LORD, for He has shown me His loving devotion in a city under siege.21Blessed be the LORD, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city.
In my alarm I said, “I am cut off from Your sight!” But You heard my plea for mercy when I called to You for help.22I had said in my alarm, “I am cut off from your sight.” But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help.
Love the LORD, all His saints. The LORD preserves the faithful, but fully repays the arrogant.23Love the LORD, all you his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride.
Be strong and courageous, all you who hope in the LORD.24Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!
