Job Tells of Earths Treasures 1Surely there is a mine for silver And a place where they refine gold.
Iron is taken from the dust,
Man puts an end to darkness,
He sinks a shaft far from habitation,
The earth, from it comes food,
Its rocks are the source of sapphires,
The path no bird of prey knows,
The proud beasts have not trodden it,
He puts his hand on the flint;
He hews out channels through the rocks,
He dams up the streams from flowing,
Man does not know its value,
The deep says, It is not in me;
Pure gold cannot be given in exchange for it,
It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir,
Gold or glass cannot equal it,
Coral and crystal are not to be mentioned;
The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it,
Where then does wisdom come from?
Thus it is hidden from the eyes of all living
Abaddon and Death say,
God understands its way,
For He looks to the ends of the earth
When He imparted weight to the wind
When He set a limit for the rain
Then He saw it and declared it;
And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; NASB 1995 Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, Calif. All rights reserved. For Permission to Quote Information visit http://www.lockman.org Bible Hub |
