Good News Translation
The man raped the engaged woman in the countryside, and although she cried for help, there was no one to help her.

New Revised Standard Version
Since he found her in the open country, the engaged woman may have cried for help, but there was no one to rescue her.

Contemporary English Version
because the woman was alone out in the country when the man attacked her. She screamed, but there was no one to help her.
