Good News Translation
Then he built an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. The LORD answered his prayer, and the epidemic in Israel was stopped.

David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and offerings of well-being. So the LORD answered his supplication for the land, and the plague was averted from Israel.

Then he built an altar for the LORD. He offered sacrifices to please the LORD and to ask for his blessings. The LORD answered the prayers of the people, and no one else died from the terrible disease.
