Unlawful Sexual Relations
(Matthew 5:27–30)

And YHWH spoke to Moses, saying, 2“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them: I am YHWH your⁺ God. 3You⁺ shall not do according to the work of the land of Egypt in which you⁺ dwelt, and according to the work of the land of Canaan where I am bringing you⁺, you⁺ shall not do, and in their ordinances you⁺ shall not walk.

You⁺ shall observe My ordinances and keep My statutes to walk in them. I am YHWH your⁺ God. 5And you⁺ shall keep My statutes and My ordinances, which the man who does them, he shall live by them. I am YHWH.

Any man unto any relation of his flesh shall not approach to uncover nakedness. I am YHWH.

The nakedness of your father or the nakedness of your mother you shall not uncover. She is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness.

The nakedness of the wife of your father you shall not uncover; it is the nakedness of your father.

The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father or the daughter of your mother—whether born at home or born elsewhere—you shall not uncover their nakedness.

The nakedness of the daughter of your son or of the daughter of your daughter—you shall not uncover their nakedness; for they are your own nakedness.

The nakedness of the daughter of the wife of your father begotten by your father—she is your sister—you shall not uncover her nakedness.

The nakedness of the sister of your father you shall not uncover; she is the flesh of your father.

The nakedness of the sister of your mother you shall not uncover, for she is the flesh of your mother.

The nakedness of the brother of your father you shall not uncover. Unto his wife you shall not approach; she is your aunt.

The nakedness of your daughter-in-law you shall not uncover; she is the wife of your son. You shall not uncover her nakedness.

The nakedness of the wife of your brother you shall not uncover; it is the nakedness of your brother.

The nakedness of a woman and her daughter you shall not uncover—the daughter of her son or the daughter of her daughter you shall not take to uncover her nakedness. They are flesh; it is depravity.

And a woman to her sister you shall not take as a rival, to uncover her nakedness beside her in her life.

And a woman in the separation of her uncleanness you shall not approach to uncover her nakedness.

And with the wife of your neighbor you shall not give of copulation your seed to defile yourself with her.

and you shall not give any of your seed to pass over to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God. I am YHWH.

And with a male you shall not lie as with a woman; it is an abomination.

And with any animal you shall not lie carnally to defile yourself with it, and any woman shall not stand before the face of an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.

Do not defile yourselves with any of these things, for by all these are defiled the nations that I am casting out before you⁺. 25And the land is defiled; and I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out those dwelling in it.

And you⁺ shall keep My statutes and My ordinances, and you⁺ shall not commit any of these abominations, the native or any sojourner who dwells among you⁺— 27for the men of the land who were before you⁺ have done all these abominations, and the land was defiled— 28lest the land vomit you out also when you⁺ defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you⁺.

For anyone who commits any of these abominations—even the persons who commit them—shall be cut off from among their people. 30Therefore you⁺ shall keep My charge, so as not to do any of the abominable statutes that have been done before you⁺, so that you⁺ do not defile yourselves by them. I am YHWH your⁺ God.”
