1. The Church in Laodicea: One of the most direct warnings against spiritual apathy is found in the message to the church in Laodicea in the Book of Revelation. The risen Christ admonishes the church for being "lukewarm" in their faith. Revelation 3:15-16 states, "I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth." This passage highlights the repulsion that spiritual indifference causes to God and the severe consequence of being rejected by Him.

2. Israel's Apathy in the Wilderness: The Israelites' journey through the wilderness serves as a historical example of spiritual apathy.
