The term "manned" is not directly found in the Bible; however, the concept of human involvement, leadership, and stewardship is a recurring theme throughout the Scriptures. The Bible often emphasizes the role of individuals in carrying out God's will, leading others, and managing the resources entrusted to them.

Human Stewardship and Leadership

From the beginning, God entrusted humanity with the responsibility of stewardship over creation. In Genesis 1:28 , God commands Adam and Eve, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth." This mandate establishes the principle of human management and oversight of the earth, highlighting the role of mankind as caretakers of God's creation.

Leadership in the Old Testament

Throughout the Old Testament, God appoints individuals to lead and manage His people. Moses is a prime example, chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and through the wilderness. In Exodus 3:10 , God says to Moses, "So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring My people the Israelites out of Egypt." Moses' leadership is characterized by his direct communication with God and his role in implementing God's laws and commandments.

Similarly, Joshua is appointed to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses' death. In Joshua 1:9 , God encourages him, saying, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua's leadership is marked by his faithfulness to God's commands and his military and administrative skills.

Kingship and Governance

The establishment of kingship in Israel further illustrates the concept of manned leadership. Saul, David, and Solomon are notable kings who were anointed to govern the nation. David, in particular, is described as a man after God's own heart (1 Samuel 13:14), and his reign is characterized by his devotion to God and his role in uniting the tribes of Israel.

Solomon, David's son, is renowned for his wisdom and the construction of the Temple in Jerusalem. In 1 Kings 3:9 , Solomon prays, "Give Your servant, therefore, an understanding heart to judge Your people and to discern between good and evil. For who is able to govern this great people of Yours?" Solomon's request for wisdom underscores the importance of divine guidance in human leadership.

New Testament Leadership

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ exemplifies the ultimate model of leadership and servanthood. He calls His disciples to follow Him and equips them to spread the Gospel. In Matthew 28:19-20 , Jesus commissions His followers, saying, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you."

The early church also reflects the principle of manned leadership through the appointment of apostles, elders, and deacons to oversee the spiritual and practical needs of the community. The Apostle Paul, in his letters, provides guidance on the qualifications and responsibilities of church leaders, emphasizing character, faithfulness, and the ability to teach (1 Timothy 3:1-7).

Conclusion

While the specific term "manned" is not used in the Bible, the Scriptures consistently highlight the role of human leadership and stewardship in fulfilling God's purposes. From the stewardship of creation to the governance of nations and the leadership within the church, the Bible underscores the importance of human involvement in carrying out divine mandates.
