21 In the same hour, He exulted in the Holy Spirit and said, “I acknowledge You, Father, Lord of heaven and of the earth, because You hid away these things from the wise and intelligent, and You revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, because of thus it was good pleasure before You.

22 All things were delivered to Me by My Father. And no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and the one to whom the Son may resolve to reveal Him.”

23 And having turned to the disciples, He said in private, “Blessed are the eyes seeing what you? see.

24 For I say to you? that many prophets and kings desired to see what you? see and did not see, and to hear what you? hear and did not hear.”

25 And behold, a certain lawyer rose up, testing Him, saying, “Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?”

26 And He said to him, “What has been written in the Law? How do you read it?”

27 And answering, he said, “‘You will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’”

28 And He said to him, “You answered correctly. Do this and you will live.”

29 But wanting to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30 And Jesus, having taken it up, said, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers who, having both stripped him and having inflicted wounds, went away, having left him half dead.

31 Now by chance a certain priest was going down on that road, and having seen him, he passed by on the opposite side.

32 And likewise also a Levite, having come to the place and having seen, passed by on the opposite side.

33 But a certain Samaritan, journeying, came to him, and having seen, he was moved with compassion;

34 and having come, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and having put him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn and took care of him.

35 And on the next day, having taken out two denarii, he gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you might expend, I, in my returning, will repay you.’

36 Which of these three seems to you to have been a neighbor of the one having fallen among the robbers?”

37 And he said, “The one having done the mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go, and you do likewise.”

38 Now in their going, He entered into a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also, having sat down at the feet of the Lord, was hearing His word.

40 But Martha was distracted about much service; and having stood, she said, “Lord, is it not concerning to You that my sister left me alone to serve? Therefore speak to her so that she might help me!”

41 And answering, the Lord said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things;

42 but little is necessary, or one thing; for Mary chose the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
