1 THE Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show unto his servants those things which must soon come to pass, he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John: The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. 3 Blessed is he who reads and they who listen to the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it: for the time is at hand. 5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first to arise from the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth unto him who loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
6 And has made us a spiritual Kingdom unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
7 Behold he comes with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, even the men who pierced him: and all the kindreds of the earth shall wail over him. Even so, Amen. Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen. “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him|; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending says the LORD God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
9 I, John, your brother, and companion in suffering, and in the hope of Jesus Christ, was in the island which is called Patmos, because of the word of God, and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ. I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
10 The Spirit of prophecy came upon me on the LORD’S day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,
11 What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches; to Eph'e-sus, and to Smyrna, and to Per’ga-mos, and to Thy-ati’ra, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to La-od-i-ce’a. saying, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.” which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”
12 And I turned to see the voice that spoke to me. And as I turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one resembling the Son of man, wearing a long vestment and girded round his breast with a golden girdle. and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.
14 His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.
15 And his feet were like the fine brass of Lebanon, as though they burned in a furnace; and his voice was as the sound of many waters. his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shining in its strength. In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last: When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
19 Write, therefore, the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; Write therefore the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this. “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.
20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks are the seven churches. As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
