Joyfully sing to the LORD, you righteous people. Praising [the LORD] is proper for decent people. Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Give thanks with a lyre to the LORD. Make music for him on a ten-stringed harp. Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing a new song to him. Play beautifully and joyfully on stringed instruments. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
The word of the LORD is correct, and everything he does is trustworthy. For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
The LORD loves righteousness and justice. His mercy fills the earth. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
The heavens were made by the word of the LORD and all the stars by the breath of his mouth. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers the water in the sea like a dam and puts the oceans in his storehouses. He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the LORD. Let all who live in the world stand in awe of him. Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
He spoke, and it came into being. He gave the order, and there it stood. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
The LORD blocks the plans of the nations. He frustrates the schemes of the people of the world. The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
The LORD's plan stands firm forever. His thoughts stand firm in every generation. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD. Blessed are the people he has chosen as his own. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
The LORD looks down from heaven. He sees all of Adam's descendants. The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
From the place where he sits enthroned, he looks down upon all who live on earth. from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth—
The one who formed their hearts understands everything they do. he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
No king achieves a victory with a large army. No warrior rescues himself by his own great strength. The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
Horses are not a guarantee for victory. Their great strength cannot help someone escape. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
The LORD's eyes are on those who fear him, on those who wait with hope for his mercy Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
to rescue their souls from death and keep them alive during a famine. that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
We wait for the LORD. He is our help and our shield. Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts find joy. In his holy name we trust. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
Let your mercy rest on us, O LORD, since we wait with hope for you. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you. May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
