1 Give a ringing cry, O righteous ones, in YHWH! Beautiful is the praise for the upright. Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2 Give thanks to YHWH with the harp; with an instrument of ten strings, make music to Him. Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
4 For straight is the word of YHWH, and all His work is trustworthy. For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving devotion of YHWH. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
6 By the word of YHWH the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathers together the waters of the sea as a heap; He lays up the depths in storehouses. He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
8 Let them be afraid of YHWH, all the earth; let all those dwelling in the world stand in awe of Him! Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
9 For He has spoken, and it came to pass; He has commanded, and it stood firm. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
10 YHWH breaks apart the counsel of nations; He has diasllowed the plans of the peoples. The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
11 The counsel of YHWH stands forever, the plans of His heart from generation and to generation. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation for whom YHWH is its God, the people He has chosen as the inheritance for Him. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
13 From the heavens, YHWH looks; He sees all the sons of man. The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
14 From the fixed place of His sitting, He gazes toward all those dwelling on the earth. from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth—
15 He fashions their hearts together; He attends to all their works. he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
16 No king is saved by the abundance of his strength; a mighty man is not delivered by the abundance of his power. The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17 His horse is a false thing for salvation, and in the abundance of its strength it cannot provide escape. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 Behold, the eye of YHWH is toward those who fear Him, to those waiting on His loving devotion, Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19 to snatch their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for YHWH—He is our help and our shield. Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
21 For in Him our heart shall rejoice, because we have trusted in His holy Name. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
22 May Your loving devotion, O YHWH, be upon us, as we do wait for You. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you. May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
