1 Unto the end, a psalm for David. To thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul. To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. Of David. In you, LORD my God, I put my trust.
2 In thee, O my God, I put my trust; let me not be ashamed. O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.
3 Neither let my enemies laugh at me: for none of them that wait on thee shall be confounded. Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.
4 Let all them be confounded that act unjust things without cause. Shew, O Lord, thy ways to me, and teach me thy paths. Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths.
5 Direct me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art God my Saviour; and on thee have I waited all the day long. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, O Lord, thy bowels of compassion; and thy mercies that are from the beginning of the world. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
7 The sins of my youth and my ignorances do not remember. According to thy mercy remember thou me: for thy goodness' sake, O Lord. Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD! Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good.
8 The Lord is sweet and righteous: therefore he will give a law to sinners in the way. Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He will guide the mild in judgment: he will teach the meek his ways. He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth, to them that seek after his covenant and his testimonies. All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
11 For thy name's sake, O Lord, thou wilt pardon my sin: for it is great. For your name’s sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt, for it is great. For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
12 Who is the man that feareth the Lord? He hath appointed him a law in the way he hath chosen. Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.
13 His soul shall dwell in good things: and his seed shall inherit the land. His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land.
14 The Lord is a firmament to them that fear him: and his covenant shall be made manifest to them. The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.
15 My eyes are ever towards the Lord: for he shall pluck my feet out of the snare. My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.
16 Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me; for I am alone and poor. Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are multiplied: deliver me from my necessities. The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish.
18 See my abjection and my labour; and forgive me all my sins. Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins. Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.
19 Consider my enemies for they are multiplied, and have hated me with an unjust hatred. Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me. See how numerous are my enemies and how fiercely they hate me!
20 Keep thou my soul, and deliver me: I shall not be ashamed, for I have hoped in thee. Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me! Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
21 The innocent and the upright have adhered to me: because I have waited on thee. May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, LORD, is in you.
22 Deliver Israel, O God, from all his tribulations. Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles. Deliver Israel, O God, from all their troubles!
