1 Unto the end, a psalm for David. Judge me, O Lord, for I have walked in my innocence: and I have put my trust in the Lord, and shall not be weakened. Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Of David. Vindicate me, LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORD and have not faltered.
2 Prove me, O Lord, and try me; burn my reins and my heart. Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind. Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;
3 For thy mercy is before my eyes; and I am well pleased with thy truth. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.
4 I have not sat with the council of vanity: neither will I go in with the doers of unjust things. I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites.
5 I have hated the assembly of the malignant; and with the wicked I will not sit. I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked. I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked.
6 I will wash my hands among the innocent; and will compass thy altar, O Lord: I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O LORD, I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, LORD,
7 That I may hear the voice of thy praise: and tell of all thy wondrous works. proclaiming thanksgiving aloud, and telling all your wondrous deeds. proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds.
8 I have loved, O Lord, the beauty of thy house; and the place where thy glory dwelleth. O LORD, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells. LORD, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.
9 Take not away my soul, O God, with the wicked: nor my life with bloody men: Do not sweep my soul away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men, Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with those who are bloodthirsty,
10 In whose hands are iniquities: their right hand is filled with gifts. in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes. in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes.
11 But as for me, I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy on me. But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me. I lead a blameless life; deliver me and be merciful to me.
12 My foot hath stood in the direct way: in the churches I will bless thee, O Lord. My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will bless the LORD. My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the LORD.
