1 By David. Blessed be Yahweh, my rock, who trains my hands to war, and my fingers to battle— Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; Of David. Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.
2 my loving kindness, my fortress, my high tower, my deliverer, my shield, and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me. he is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. 3 Yahweh, what is man, that you care for him? Or the son of man, that you think of him? O LORD, what is man that you regard him, or the son of man that you think of him? LORD, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them?
4 Man is like a breath. His days are like a shadow that passes away. Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow.
5 Part your heavens, Yahweh, and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke. Bow your heavens, O LORD, and come down! Touch the mountains so that they smoke! Part your heavens, LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, so that they smoke.
6 Throw out lightning, and scatter them. Send out your arrows, and rout them. Flash forth the lightning and scatter them; send out your arrows and rout them! Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy; shoot your arrows and rout them.

9 I will sing a new song to you, God. On a ten-stringed lyre, I will sing praises to you. I will sing a new song to you, O God; upon a ten-stringed harp I will play to you, I will sing a new song to you, my God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
10 You are he who gives salvation to kings, who rescues David, his servant, from the deadly sword. who gives victory to kings, who rescues David his servant from the cruel sword. to the One who gives victory to kings, who delivers his servant David. From the deadly sword
11 Rescue me, and deliver me out of the hands of foreigners, whose mouths speak deceit, whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood. Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouths speak lies and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood. deliver me; rescue me from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful.
12 Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants, our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace. May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace; Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.
13 Our barns are full, filled with all kinds of provision. Our sheep produce thousands and ten thousands in our fields. may our granaries be full, providing all kinds of produce; may our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields; Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields;
14 Our oxen will pull heavy loads. There is no breaking in, and no going away, and no outcry in our streets. may our cattle be heavy with young, suffering no mishap or failure in bearing; may there be no cry of distress in our streets! our oxen will draw heavy loads. There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets.
15 Happy are the people who are in such a situation. Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh. Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall! Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD! Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the LORD.
