1 {A Song, a Psalm of David.} My heart is fixed, O God: I will sing, yea, I will sing psalms, even [with] my glory. My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and make melody with all my being! A song. A psalm of David. My heart, O God, is steadfast; I will sing and make music with all my soul.
2 Awake, lute and harp: I will wake the dawn. Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
3 I will give thee thanks among the peoples, O Jehovah; of thee will I sing psalms among the nations: I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.
4 For thy loving-kindness is great above the heavens, and thy truth is unto the clouds. For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
5 Be thou exalted above the heavens, O God, and thy glory above all the earth. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
6 That thy beloved ones may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me. That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer me! Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.
7 God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. God has promised in his holiness: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth. God has spoken from his sanctuary: “In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.
8 Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine, and Ephraim is the strength of my head; Judah is my law-giver; Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter. Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah is my scepter.
9 Moab is my wash-pot; upon Edom will I cast my sandal; over Philistia will I shout aloud. Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” Moab is my washbasin, on Edom I toss my sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.”
10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me unto Edom? Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?
11 [Wilt] not [thou], O God, who didst cast us off? and didst not go forth, O God, with our armies? Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go out, O God, with our armies. Is it not you, God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?
12 Give us help from trouble; for vain is man's deliverance. Oh grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man! Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless.
13 Through God we shall do valiantly; and he it is that will tread down our adversaries. With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.
